“Learnt a lot and made a lot of memories” Departed Tottenham man reflects on his time at the club

By Bruce Grove -

Anthony Georgiou has delivered a farewell message to Tottenham fans after he sealed a move away from the club to AEL Limassol.

The winger came through the ranks at Tottenham and made his debut for them in a Champions League game against APOEL Nicosia in 2017.

He was expected to kick on from there, but he never really did, and the club has now decided to allow him to leave so that he can build a senior career elsewhere.

The 23-year-old spent most of his time on the books of Tottenham by going out on loan to the likes of Bolton and Ipswich Town.

He was supposed to be out of a contract at the end of this season, but the club has allowed him to leave early to the Cypriot side.

After completing his transfer, he took to his Instagram account to thank everyone at Tottenham who has helped him during his time there.

He said he learnt so much and made a lot of memories in the 11 years that he spent working his way through the club’s age-grades.

He posted an image of himself in a Tottenham kit and captioned it: “Learnt a lot and made a lot of memories throughout my 11 years at Tottenham. Thank you to everyone at @spursofficial 🤍 Always grateful 🙏🏼

I’m looking forward to the next chapter ”
