Tottenham’s summer plans could be spoilt by West Ham this month

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham could lose Odsonne Edouard to West Ham this month as they plan to wait until the summer to sign him.

The Frenchman has had a goal-laden spell at Celtic and he is entering the final 18 months of his current contract.

The Lilywhites are one of the teams that want to sign him, however; they are not looking to do that in this transfer window.

As they wait until the summer, West Ham has become interested in his signature and the Hammers are prepared to land him now, Star Sports claims.

David Moyes’ side has sold Sebastian Haller to Ajax this month and they are looking to replace the Ivory Coast striker with Edouard.

Edouard moved from PSG to Celtic Park in 2018, and he has remained the Hoops’ top striker since he has been there.

He has already netted 74 times for them and would be looking to test himself in another competition.

The report says that his current deal will run out at the end of next season, and they are now looking to cash in on him for the right price.

He is currently valued at £35million, while West Ham sold Haller for £20million.

Spurs signed Carlos Vinicius as a back up to Harry Kane last summer, but he is only with them on loan and hasn’t been given Premier League starts.

Edouard might come in as a cheaper and more established alternative.

Don’t let bias blind you to the gems that pass through the Scottish Premier League, Virgil Van Dijk, Andrew Robertson, Kieran Tierney, John McGinn, Stilyian Petrov, Hendrik Larsson, and our own Victor Wanyama until injury derailed him.

Edouard is a top prospect, strong, quick powerfully built, made for the Premier League. He’s a prolific scorer, has broken the goal scoring records for the French U21s. He is not the finished article. But a Mourinho could bring him to the next level, A bargain at £30 million, 😁.

The Scottish PL is not even Championship level. I wouldn’t be spending anymore than €20m on him.
