Latest Serge Aurier update is rather good news for Tottenham

By Bruce Grove -

It seems that Serge Aurier is getting closer to departing Tottenham as AC Milan won’t relent in their efforts to sign him and they are not alone in coveting the 27-year-old.

The Ivorian established himself as the club’s first-choice right-back throughout last season and he played over 40 times for the club in all competitions, mainly because there was no competition for his place.

Aurier is, however, one player that the club can do without and they will be happy with the latest update.

Reports from Italy via Football Italia claims that Milan is intensifying their efforts to land the former PSG man.

The Italians have been his major suitors for some time now as they seek a new right-back to help them their next season goals.

However, they now face competition from the German side, Bayer Leverkusen, according to Sky Sports.

Aurier has had a season of playing regularly, but he isn’t of the quality that Tottenham need in such a vital position.

He is error-prone and he is always looking like a mistake waiting to happen and can be frustrating with his delivery from out wide.

The fact that there is more than just Milan interested in the player is great news for Spurs, it means there is a good chance that Daniel Levy will get the price he is demanding and provide much needed funds to sign a better replacement.
