Journalist identifies new position for unhappy Tottenham man who may feature against Bournemouth

Tanguy Ndombele has become an unhappy player at Tottenham after falling out with Jose Mourinho.

The former Lyon man has lost the trust of the Portuguese manager and he hasn’t been considered for starting a game since the restart.

He was a record signing in the summer and the club had high hopes that he would deliver and help them build on reaching the final of the Champions League last season.

He hasn’t been able to make the team better and Mourinho has decided that it is best to field the players that he can trust to do a job.

However, with the matches coming thick and fast before the end of this prolonged season, Tottenham correspondent for Football London, Alasdair Gold, claims that the Frenchman might return to the starting XI against Bournemouth and adds that his position might change as well.

Gold predicts that the midfielder might be fielded further forward, just behind Harry Kane.

He said: “Harry Kane again cut a forlorn figure, the ball socially distancing itself from him for much of the game.

“The service from those around the England captain was again poor.

“Lo Celso was off-key in his attacking endeavours, Lucas Moura still struggling for an end product and Son not quite finding his former self yet with heavy touches and over or underhit passes.

“With Dele Alli struggling with another hamstring problem, the answer might just be Ndombele.

“The 23-year-old went without any minutes on the pitch for a fourth game out of the past five, which is likely to ignite more reports about his future back home in France in the days ahead.

“Mourinho just doesn’t trust Ndombele to come on when things are tight and he wants to preserve a narrow lead.

“The Frenchman warmed up plenty in the second half but ultimately was not given the call to enter the fray.

“Perhaps the answer is to use him further up the pitch, leaving Lo Celso to focus on his deeper commitments.

“Ndombele can dribble past opponents with ease, pick out team-mates with a through ball and he’s shown that he can also put the ball in the net.

“What he’s struggled with has been tracking back, remaining tactically disciplined and his overall fitness.”

With regards to Ndombele playing against Bournemouth, Gold has this to say,

“Mourinho is likely to rotate his squad for the trip to Bournemouth, with just two days to rest weary legs, and Ndombele could well be turned to, as well as others like Lamela and Steven Bergwijn”

Gold is fairly trustworthy and his opinion tends to be based on reality as opposed to the hysteria being spouted out by the tabloids and he does make a suggestion that is certainly a viable option that Mourinho may well be considering.

I doubt that Mourinho is being stubborn and that he is benching Ndombele for genuine reasons, trust being one of them as Gold outlined.

It will be very interesting to see if he does feature against Bournemouth on Thursday evening and what position he is tasked with.

Yeah but you’re forgetting, you know nothing about my love of the club. If people aren’t treating something you love right you get the hump.

You do it your way, I’ll do it mine. If you don’t mind, thanks…

Gio has been the only bright spot in an otherwise turgid season.

He’s Poch’s boy you know, it’s the Argie effect…

Can you remember roughly when your hatred of the money people became stronger than your love for the football club? How long you been hating on Tottenham?

No better way of getting fit than playing ,if he has a good game it might kick start something positive with himself and Maureen. More importantly which no one has been talking about ,what has happened to our 30million purchase (That we could have got for 500,000) Seggy? I haven’t heard anything about him and apparently we had a another l.b youngster on the bench for the Everton match .

The team has no identity anymore. It’s gone from the Poch press of a few years ago to a dull less proactive team slowly, but this has been further compounded by the arrival of Jose.

It doesn’t feel at all like a Spurs team at the moment. We have completely lost our way thanks to old slap-head…
