“There’s £200m, give us Kane” pundit living in a Man Utd fantasy world

By Bruce Grove -

Harry Kane is one of the best strikers in the world and he has been linked with moves to almost all the top teams at some point.

He remains arguably the most important player at Tottenham at the moment, and the club would not want to sell him for any reason.

That has, however, not stop pundits, fans and even managers of other teams from dreaming of landing him.

Manchester United is one team that has been linked with a move for him for a long time now and that seems to have sent one of their ex-players into fantasy land.

Dion Dublin, who is now a pundit, has urged the Red Devils to make a move for the Englishman.

He reckons that the Red Devils need a striker who can score at least 25 goals per season and encouraged Ole Gunnar Solkjear’s side to open the cheque book and offer Tottenham as much as £200m  for Kane.

“I think United still need a 25-goal man up front,” he said on Premier League Productions as quoted by Express Sports.

“I would go to Spurs and say, ‘here’s £150m, give us Kane’ or ‘there’s £200m, give us Kane’

Dublin must really be in a dream world because the impact of the coronavirus and Tottenham’s bid to win trophies makes Kane almost unmovable, at least this summer.

It makes you wonder how some of these pundits get jobs because the idea of any club, including United, going out and spending £200 million on a player is simply fantasy.

I could do what Dublin has done, I could “urge” Joe Lewis to open his chequebook up and spend £200 million on Neymar or whoever, it is just lazy punditry.

The one English team I think could use Harry is not United but Man City. Aguero is 32 I think, he’s out injured again he’ll move on shortly. Jesus doesn’t seem able to replace him. Guardiola likes hard working, intelligent team first players and that describes Harry to a t. Levy would love Harry to go abroad and not embarrass him every week but Harry doesn’t strike me as a player who would want to give up the comforts of home. So it’s a marriage made in heaven for both parties.

I hope you’re wrong, but i fear you maybe right.. Or maybe the next summer players will want out if no improvement. Next two transfer windows are vital… If the likes of kane and son want to quit then we are in big trouble. Hard to replace world class players, I’m guessing especially in the current climate.

I think it’s more than possible that HK will
move on this summer. I think he and Sonny have already asked their respective agents to put the feelers out.

£150 million for HK is more than feasible with cash rich clubs like Utd or the likes of Real.

£75-80 million for Sonny they’ll be a que of clubs after him.

Levy will see this £ before he sees the damage it will do to the squad.

For united, £200m is not impossible, hell, for us its not. Most of our revenue is still sponsorship and TV, both of which are fixed term revenue streams. We lose a little rhoguh match day, but not a lot. The european markets will suffer more, or those that need a sugar daddy. This pandemic will suit teams like united, Liverpool and Arsenal down the ground. We may not have got on the boat quite fast enough, as our debts are fixed interest at a time where interest rates should drop. Kane is not unmovable at all, especailly if he comes out and asks to move. My only doubt with united being a desitination is simple, are tehy really any more likely to win a trophy in the next 2-4yrs than us? Thier squad is a mess, and threadbare, they just have a good manager…!
