Jose Mourinho gives credit to opponents after Spurs scrape through against nine man Lokomotiv Plovdiv

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham have taken one step closer to qualifying for the Europa League group stage after a scrappy 2-1 win over resilient Lokomotiv Plovdiv.

It was a dour performance from Mourinho’s men but it is never easy to break down any team that puts all their men behind the ball, something that the Portuguese highlighted in his post-match interview.

It was not a vintage display for sure and there remain many negatives but unlike the game against Everton, there was a few positives including Tanguy Ndombele’s performance and Giovani Lo Celso putting in a decent 90 mins.

Cop that you bus-parking Bulgar ball bags. Having only 9 men behind the ball in the last 20 minutes made it easier for our bunch of dysfunctional players to turn you over.

Half the players that got on the pitch won’t be here next season. Jose gotta and will have practically a whole new starting 11 for next season. (The season for me i think it will start) He’s got a year to change the team while winning stuff. He’s half way there already. Our two new natural born ballers will make it easier.

Hand on heart that given our woeful performance on Sunday did anybody seriously expect any different against this inferior Bulgarian outfit? I Know nothing about our next opponents other than Yougoslav players are feisty and generally technically gifted.
Expecting miracles from our newbies who knows what will happen presumably other than things can only get better than worse when if the side clicks into gear hopefully results in the team ending the long barren spell of winning some silverware this season.
