Jose Mourinho exposed Jurgen Klopp last night – will the authorities now act?

By Bruce Grove -

Liverpool are a great side, there is no doubt about that and Jurgen Klopp is a world-class coach but that does not make him immune from scrutiny for his appalling touchline behaviour.

Jose Mourinho highlighted to the media last night in his post-match press interviews the German’s lack of dignity on the sidelines and that of his staff and it is not the first time that opposition managers have complained about the way the Liverpool coaching staff conduct themselves during games.

Frank Lampard had a bust-up with Klopp earlier in the season and we have all seen with our own eyes the way he handles himself when things are not going his way.

Of course, Jose Mourinho is no angel but every time he lost control of his senses he was fined and suspended yet Klopp seems to get a pass by the authorities.

Most neutral fans know how VAR and refs treat Liverpool, they are not known as Livarpool for nothing but you would have thought that the bias towards the Merseysiders would not have extended to the high echelons of the game.

If coaches like Klopp cannot act with dignity then it is the responsibility of the footballing authorities to come down on his antics, if they continue to ignore the way he and his staff act then the situation on the sidelines will only degenerate further because other clubs managers simply will not put up with it for much longer.

I think Klopp should reign it in a bit as it’s irritating, however I’m not sure what ‘rule’ he’s broken

As for Jose, pot calling the kettle I’m afraid…

Klopp looked like ‘the nutter at the back of the bus’ so furious were his twitches, gesticulations and gurning. Needs to be addressed. End of.

Klopp and Liverpool are getting a little too big for their boots but they won’t win anything on home form alone. Jose was not saying he’s a saint. He was saying that he gets fined or sent to the stands and Klopp doesn’t.. I like Klopp but his team is not as good as last year as Craven Cottage and Villa Park have shown. Liverpool had to be at their best last night yet they still could have conceded 4 easily on another night.

Stop crying.. theres a big difference between how klopp behaves compared to mourinho. Mourinho always takes it too far and becomes abusive or even sexist. And as far as VAR goes, I’m not sure what you’ve been watching but we have had far more VAR decisions go against us than for us this season and some have been nothing short of disgraceful. The result was a fair one.

Wow a manager to act with Dignity…. you do know your manager is Jose. Who eye gouged the opposition assistant coach? Or the one that berated his female physio? Or the one that antagonises opposition fans.

This is the single stupidest football-related opinion piece I’ve ever seen. I’m actually quite sure you’re just baiting because I just don’t believe anyone can be this stupid.
