Jose Mourinho delivers depressing injury update

Son Heung-Min picked up another injury in Tottenham’s Premier League game at the weekend against Newcastle United.

The South Korean, who has already scored six goals for the club this season, has emerged as one of the club’s most reliable goal outlet so far.

Mourinho saw his side frustratingly share the points against the Magpies after they had taken an early lead and also dominated the game.

Newcastle scored a late penalty goal after VAR adjudged Eric Dier to have handled the ball in the penalty area.

Son’s injury last season was one of the reasons why Spurs saw their bid to end that campaign inside the top four derailed.

He couldn’t finish the game against the Magpies and he was replaced by Steven Bergwijn at half time.

After the game, Mourinho delivered an update on the striker’s injury and he claimed that the attacker will be out for a “while”.

Mourinho, 57, said via Sun Sports: “It’s an injury. We’ll have him out for a while. It’s his hamstring.”

With Gareth Bale yet to resume playing due to an injury too, Spurs will have to be creative with their attacking options now.

‘See, being corrected wasn’t painful was it. Good way to learn, learning can make one not stupid’

Ah but you see, I’m not childish and stubborn like your good self and I will admit when I’m factually incorrect. Something you are clearly incapable of, someone who feels they’re ‘never wrong’ is always the biggest plonker around….

Moura should be upgraded but as a squad player I guess he’s alright. Shouldn’t be starting when Bake abd Sonny are fit.

A bit early to make too much of a call on Bergwijn, he looks pretty decent just not outstanding. Whereas Tanguy looks total class…

He failed to get top 4 despite being within a point of it at one stage and Norwich knocked us out of the cup at home. Nobody really moaned (apart from those not brain dead).

That’s called slack…

What slack has Jose had? He’s just been busy cleaning up the mess and loser mentality poch left. “How amazing he’ SUPPOSED to be? Winning in four different countrys is pretty amazing to me. He carries himself brilliantly. He remembered my name🌚

Poch didn’t have to do anything. Levy never interferes with team selection. He chose his priorities. Its his fault he didn’t have it in him to manipulate the squads he’s had to sneak a little cup on his journey

Unfortunately, or fortunately as the case may be, Mou doesn’t seem to rate Dele at the moment. I think he’s trying the shock treatment that worked with Tanguy, perhaps it’ll work, or Dele will be off.
Bergwijn has scored a couple of important goals against both Manchester clubs, so he can do it. Perhaps once he’s settled down we’ll see the best of him. Looks like he’s going to get a run of games with Sonny out anyway. Perhaps that is what he needs.
Lucas is a bit frustrating though as on his day he can be special, trouble is that’s a very rare day indeed!
N’Dombele is class and must be in a starting 11.

How do you know? Have you a crystal ball as well as a flux capacitor in your stainless steel car which doesn’t seem to be working. Its 87 miles per hr not 87 kilometers per hr. Try that.

I’d rather win the league cup than get to the CL final and lose it. Winning the league cup would make me happy losing the CL final would/did make me sad. That’s just me. I want young fans to experience winning something. Plus to get the manor out with the open top bus. FA cup. League cup. Europa cup who cares. Hundreds of thousands out on the plot. Of course we all want to win league titles and the big European cup but the little ones still matter to me and the community. Do you think the junior fans in playgrounds care what cup it is?

I haven’t seen much special from Bergwijn, he might be a useful squad player from what I’ve seen. Neither him or Moura get in ahead of Sonny and Bale.

Unless we get another specialist number 10 our best front four will be Kane, Son, Bale with Dele in behind. Dele is the only player who can link up with Kane like that, as he has in the past. Put in in there with Bale and an in form Tanguy and he’ll be back. You’ve got goals, creativity, everything with that lineup.

Jose has to accommodate Tanguy, he wants a more defensive minded player in there instead. I just can’t see where Moura and Bergwijn fit in apart from as backups.

Bergwijn and Moura are definitely not good enough. Moura has had plenty of time and is solely living off his hat trick in Amsterdam. Mou doesn’t seem to rate Bergwijn, at least not now. I fear like Janssen he’s going to struggle in our league. Average players it seems.

😂 so true, 100%

The slack Jose gets is unreal, when you consider how amazing he’s supposed to be. I guess if it doesn’t work out we’ll get all the “Levy never backed him, always short of that one special signing” etc.

Poch gets hardly any players in over 5 seasons (no signings at all for 12 months last year) and it’s conveniently ignored… what a joke.

Poch had to throw a domestic cup or two every year because of levy not backing him. Told to prioritise top 4 and UCL, heaps of people came out hating on him for it after he left. Jose’s fine though because he hasn’t been backed or doesn’t have ‘his’ squad yet, Funny old game innit.

Poch had to do it every year and people hated on him for it. Jose does it and he’s not to blame, go figure. Levy’s fault all the way for not backing manager as usual.

Nice day out for the kids, yes I agree and even better if you win it. Despite all that, top 4 is the only thing that matters, need to be at the top table to be taken seriously.

So we beat Jose’s Utd comfortably at Old Trafford when Poch was manager and he can’t be mentioned in the same sentence? Ok… 😂

I’d rather top four over the League Cup all day long. If we can get top four and throw the Mickey Mouse Cup in then great. Otherwise forget it…

Very sad I never thought I would hear Jose say we cant compete.

Son will be a huge loss for us others who will fill in like Moura & Bergwijn are nothing special

I think Jose has his eye on that particular wooden spoon. Someone described it to me as the Mickey Mouse Cup today. When you have this many games it feels like it, let the clubs from the Championship down play in it. With the expanded European competitions it has become utterly superfluous and unnecessary…

When you lack quality in depth this is the problem. We need Bale fit and ready ASAP, Bergwijn and Moura are not capable of filling in for Sonny.

Poch is meant to have ran players into the ground but Jose doesn’t do that, right? 😂

According to the Guardian Son has played every minute of every game this season until he had to go off.

Hindsight is wonderful I know but with Spurs having nine games in twenty one days was that wise?

Precisely what happens if you play somebody in too many games close together. Was bound to happen and will happen with Kane as well if more players aren’t bought in. It’s almost unbelievable that this hunt for a 2nd striker has been going on for years in real terms. Levy guilty of neglect I’m afraid.
I wonder how many times we’ll be able to field Son, Kane and Bale together? Not many I’d say judging by their respective injury problems. Mou must find it very frustrating working under these difficult conditions, he knows what he needs but getting it is like getting blood out of a stone. You don’t get top 4 or win trophies without the required 2 players of quality for each place. Levy seems to think one player for each place and some cheapo junk or kids for back-up is adequate. Fine mate, but don’t expect top 4 or trophies for your fancy stadium.

Looking like the start of this season could be as deflating as the last.

Jose already conceding the Carabao to Chelsea – don’t blame him but it’s depressing having to prioritise to this degree this early in the season.
