Jamie Redknapp calls for Christian Eriksen to remain at Brentford amid links to a reunion with Spurs

By Eddie Razo -

A recent report from the Daily Mail suggests that Tottenham Hotspur could be looking to reunite with Christian Eriksen. The 30-year-old is attempting to show that he’s back to his former self after suffering a cardiac arrest last summer.

After signing a six-month deal with Brentford in January, Eriksen has recorded one goal and one assist in four appearances. Along with Tottenham, Manchester United is connected to the midfielder.

Despite the potential to reunite with his former club and manager, Jamie Redknapp has disclosed that he would favor seeing Eriksen continue his career at Brentford.

Redknapp recognized that Eriksen is good enough to slot back into the Tottenham midfield, where he spent seven years. Nonetheless, in his column for the Daily Mail, the English football pundit would instead like to see him continue his stay with the Premier League newcomers.

“Could Christian Eriksen do a job in Tottenham’s midfield? Sure, he’s talented enough to improve plenty of teams towards the top of the Premier League. But I hope he stays at Brentford,” Redknapp said. “He’s writing a new chapter with a lovely club and it would be nice to see him continue this footballing fairytale.

“I’m sure you remember where you were when ‘it’ happened. I was driving home and listening to the commentary of Denmark against Finland. I couldn’t believe it. I thought I’d just heard that Eriksen had died at the age of 29 and the Denmark players were forming a barrier around his body to give the medical staff the privacy they needed. But Eriksen survived.

It will be interesting to see if Eriksen entertains the idea of heading to the club, where he made 305 appearances, and for the manager that wanted him at Inter Milan or perhaps stay with The Bees.

“Not only that, he returned to professional football. Not only that, the Premier League. Not only that, he’s winning games for Brentford, as he did at Chelsea on Saturday,” Redknapp concluded.

“And I’d like to see that continue. It’s such an inspirational story. Eriksen may have his pick of clubs when he’s a free agent in the summer, but he seems happy at Brentford, and I’d like to see him thrive there.”

I agree with Redshcnapps on this one, if I were multi-millionaire 30 year old Eriksen I think I’d probably enjoy being the star man at lovely little Brentford for the twighlight of my career.

Just. gotta be grateful you’re back playing footy every week really haven’t you.

It’s a no from me.

No to Eriksen

No to Pochetino

No to Bale

and finally no to Modrić.

Spurs fans need to stop the dewy eyed nostalgia. All the above were great ( once) We’ve moved on ( to a degree) as have they.
