Italian giants will get nowhere trying to negotiate Daniel Levy down

By Bruce Grove -

AC Milan will probably end up not signing Serge Aurier from Spurs this summer if they continue to try to drive down Tottenham’s asking price for the Ivorian.

The full-back is expected to be one player that Tottenham will be willing to sell this summer as they overhaul their team.

He has been their first choice right-back since Jose Mourinho has been their boss, but he hasn’t been overly impressive and the Portuguese manager is reportedly targeting a replacement.

Milan is the team with the strongest interest in his signature this summer and the Italians have reportedly plotted a route to landing him.

Standard Sports claims that the Italians are willing to offer only £13m for his services, but that figure is £9m less than the £22m that Daniel Levy wants to recoup from his sale.

Although he will not be missed when he is sold, Levy has proven to be one of the toughest negotiators in football over the years and the businessman will want to get as much as he can from the sale of the full-back so that he can provide even more money for Mourinho.

Spurs have already started their summer spending after they completed the signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and more players are expected to follow.

But any deal completed will be done to the satisfaction of Levy and if Milan really does want Aurier, then the sooner they realise that the sooner they will get their man.

Split the difference, £17.5 million and we can shake on it.
