Jose Mourinho has delivered what might be a good piece of news on the availability of Son Heung-Min ahead of Tottenham’s Europa League match against Maccabi Haifa.
The attacker injured his hamstring in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw against Newcastle United at the weekend.
He was expected to be out for a while, meaning the club will lose one of their most impressive players this season.
Son has scored five goals in as many games and he has helped to reduce the goalscoring burden on Harry Kane so far.
He isn’t expected to play the club’s next game against Haifa, but Mourinho wasn’t sure if he will be able to face Manchester United at the weekend.
In what should be a big positive, Mourinho said that he cannot guarantee that the attacker will not be able to face Manchester United.
‘Sonny, of course, is not playing tomorrow,’ the Portuguese said, as quoted by the Mail Online, ahead of Spurs’ Europa League play-off tie with Maccabi Haifa.
‘He’s a doubt for Sunday, a big doubt. I don’t want to say he doesn’t play and then he does because my position is in doubt.’
Son has been missed by Spurs and they will probably have scored more goals had he not missed the second half of their game against Newcastle at the weekend.

The mind games master. 20 years in this thing.
It’s Mourinho being Mourinho , sending out mixed messages to keep utd among others guessing.
This is the best news all day. Maybe after the international break we’ll be able to see our dream front 3 playing together.
