‘Incredible’ – Antonio Conte livid over decision to call off Harry Kane’s goal against Chelsea

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur fell to Chelsea for the third time this month, but Sunday’s match had manager Antonio Conte angry at the refereeing along with seeing that The Blues squad was better than his.

Conte blasted the “incredible” decision to disallow Harry Kane’s “goal” as Tottenham fell 2-0 to Chelsea on Sunday. The Italian tactician was seething after seeing Kane’s first-half effort ruled out by referee Paul Tierney for a push on Thiago Silva.

“To disallow this goal in England, it was incredible. Maybe in Italy it’s 50-50, but in England, incredible,” Conte said, per The Mirror. “To be an important team, you need important players. At the moment we are far away. It takes time. Years.”

“For the performance, I’m very proud of my players. But then if I think that in the space of 19 days we lost to Chelsea, you have to accept there is a big difference between us and them. We tried everything to get a good result here, but sometimes that’s not enough, especially when you play against this sort of team. This club is on another level compared to us.”

The goal scored by Kane would’ve given Spurs a 1-0 lead heading into the half with some momentum on their side. However, the disallowed goal permitted Chelsea to regroup in the dressing room as they scored two goals early in the second half.

On the bright side, West Ham United fell to Manchester United, but it did see The Red Devils leap into the fourth spot. Also, Arsenal dropped points with Burnley in their 0-0 draw.

Despite the loss, Tottenham only sits two points out of fourth place with two games in hand on Manchester United.
