Jose Mourinho says he doesn’t give minutes to players, rather they all earn their playing time.
The Special One is coming under fire for not giving more playing time to Real Madrid loanee, Gareth Bale.
The Welshman joined Tottenham because he was lacking playing time at the Bernabeu, but the situation hasn’t changed in London.
He has featured in just a few Premier League games and has been used mostly in the cup matches.
His struggles with persistent injuries haven’t helped his chances, but he has been fit over the last few weeks and is still struggling to play for the club.
Mourinho was asked about the attacker’s lack of action again, and he said that he isn’t in the position to just hand out minutes to players.
Rather, the players have to work hard to earn their playing time and that also applies to Bale.
Mourinho said via Mail Sport: ‘I cannot give players minutes – minutes on the pitch is not something I can give.
‘We all know the difficulties that he had for a couple of seasons.
‘We all know that he arrived injured, we all know that even this season [he is] a little bit up and down with small things
‘The most important thing for him is to be consistent in training, at high intensity without any problems, and when a player is consistent in training then the player is ready, not to be given minutes but to earn minutes. That’s a different thing.’

The standard of most clubs.. Impress in training and you’re in..
