“I am very much aware of it,” Tottenham new signing knows exactly how the fans feel about winning a trophy

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon says that the players are as keen to win a trophy for the club as what the fans are.

Spurs haven’t won a trophy in 12 years and every year gives the players the chance to end that.

Jose Mourinho has been hired to help the club win a trophy and Reguilon is one of the players that he has been backed with.

The Spaniard has made a fine start to this season and Spurs can now win the Carabao Cup if they win their next three games in the competition.

Ahead of their match against Stoke City, Reguilon spoke about the club’s trophy drought.

He said that he read about it on social media and that if the fans really want to end their wait for a trophy, the players want that even more.

“I am very much aware of it,” Reguilon said to Sky Sports

“You are aware of stuff on social media and how the fans are really keen to win a trophy.

“But believe me, if the fans are keen to win a trophy, we have even more desire as players and as a squad.”

Spurs will look to recover from a three-game winless run when they face Stoke this evening.
