How Jose Mourinho is Tactically Transforming Tottenham [video]

By The Boy -

Since the removal of Mauricio Pochettino, and the introduction of José Mourinho, only Liverpool and the now disgraced Manchester City have accumulated more points than Tottenham.

No, I wasn’t aware fo that either. My friends, I commend to you this “Football Made Simple” video and suggest that subscribing to their You Tube channel might improve your lives.

This video provides digestible insights into how the Portuguese essentially divides the outfield players into 5 attackers and 5 defenders. Effectively using 3 centre backs, Mourinho (when not ordering long balls) offers more options to bring the ball out, and uses both Dele Alli and Lucas Moura as attacking midfielders.

Simultaneously, Sonny and Serge float in and out on the wings. What’s really lacking, is an out and out striker, and this video is a useful way of demonstrating the point.

It’s perhaps only then that for some fans, daylight will dawn in respect of how valuable a player Serge Aurier has become to this new-look Tottenham.

Enough from me, if you’re interested, tuck in and enjoy.

I love these videos. Really good analysis. I would think until next season starts we wont see a proper Mourinho team, but you can see we are slowly becoming more resilient. Aurier has been a potent attacking threat despite his calamitous moments. Keeping him protected will be key.
