Reports in France are claiming that Tottenham could be about to commit to right-back Serge Aurier with a new long-term contract.
The Daily Mail wrote last month that Spurs wanted to sell the Ivorian and have been scouring the market for replacements for some time.

But the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic could be the lifeline that Aurier needed, that is if he wants to stay at the club. He did admit in September 2019 that he wanted out, via Bal Des Productions.
Le10 Sport now understands that Jose Mourinho wants to give Aurier an extension to a contract which will soon enter its final two years.
And, for some reason, despite mistake, after mistake, after mistake, which have cost us goal, after goal, after goal, these fans on Twitter are all for it?
I know people are critical of Serge but he’s perfect for Jose’s 3/4 at the back tactic

Very poor defensively but his offensive qualities is second to none so l say he should be given the contract

He needs competition to push him, but happy to have him as an option

Not a lot of people seem in favor of this but I think it’s a good move. Serge is fast, strong, athletic, and can go toe to toe with every PL winger. He’s prone to the occasional bonehead mistake, but that what makes him who he is

Aurier is actually a very talented player. He has lapses in concentration defensively but I think a consistent back line with extensive positional coaching will help that.

He is also a quality crosser of the ball and contributes to goals frequently. https://t.co/no9OIQIABc
He’s way better than people make out, although he isn’t the best defensively, he is very good going forward, Aurier needs a strict manager to do well and who better than Jose.

Aurier could potentially have a very good 20/21. https://t.co/MCnpkpIyMi
Why are some fans always willing to make excuses for this guy?
Because he whips in one good cross every five and gets four assists a season in a system that is effectively built around him? Sell, sell, sell.

If we sign Meunier he’ll be second choice. I don’t have a particular problem with that. Keep him away from the big games if possible. He can pose a threat too. A few less mistakes would be good though.
😂
I think a new contract will increase the value for Levy when he ineviatably sells him, sooner rather than later.
I wouldn’t offer him a phone contract.
Must be a financial decision, not a football one. A defender who can’t defend.
