How Alli could influence the return of former Spurs man

By Bruce Grove -

Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Dele Alli’s move to PSG would likely see Christian Eriksen return to Tottenham.

Alli and Eriksen are in similar situations at their present teams and this month is a good time to resolve their futures.

The Englishman started the season as one of Jose Mourinho’s trusted men, but it took the Special One just the first league game of the season to discover that Alli wasn’t ready for the campaign.

The midfielder was subbed off at half time in Tottenham’s 1-0 loss to Everton on matchday one.

He has hardly seen action in the Premier League since, which has seen rumours about his transfer out of the club to swell.

Eriksen, on the other hand, left Tottenham for Inter Milan just a year ago, but he has been deemed the wrong fit for Antonio Conte’s men.

PSG is keen to sign Alli, while Inter wants to also get rid of Eriksen.

The report says that a return of Eriksen is very possible and that the Dane will likely be the player that joins Spurs if Alli leaves.

PSG is keen to sign Alli and if the Frenchmen succeed in landing him, Spurs will bring Eriksen back to help with creativity, so it is now being claimed.

Every time we play a final or need a win then he would handicap us.. Might as well have ten men..

Can’t rely on either. I would sell Dele now while he’s still worth. I wonder whats happened to Dele. Maybe something behind closed doors we dont know about. He was a player a couple years back. Would love the old dele back aggressive and hungry and nailing his passes and shots..

“Those days are past him? He’s 28. No way is he finished. God know why the last 18 months happened. Bored of us. Money .kept losing his car keys. Who knows, but if he wanted to come back and did come back (on the right money happy) realising he made a mistake leaving he’d smash it again. He’s a really really good footballer. Top top playmaker when he’s ready. Dem baller deh can change games man. A happy eriksen I’d take back all day long.

I agree but seems like he was just not motivated in his last 18 months where his intensity and his end product (both goals and assists) fell off considerably. If Mourinho can get Eriksen of old, would have him back in a second but I think those days are past him.

Remember his lazy back pass that led to Citehs winner in the CL , only for VAR to intercede, Then in the Final Ericksen decides to go AWOL. He was overrated then and has been found out . BIG TIME.

Weak in the tackle too. Handy tool to have in the box though.

Bringing the Balsa Wood back from Inter is just laughable. He made his bed years ago, now he lies in it.

You’re right, but so do winks and davies.. When it comes to winning titles and taking key games by the scruff of the neck, Tintin vanished literally.. Top snowflake. Doesn’t have that edge, that winning mentality.. And he wanted out, he’s got his new challenge he wanted.

He ran alot I’ll give him that… His only stand out stat was his assists.. He only got that because of Kane. Most overated player we’ve had in time… He flattered to decieve…. And never ever turned up when we needed him.. Two finals and a league run, he bottled it every time.. No way would Maureen want him back.

You don’t think eriksen worked hard here when he was happy in them first four or so years?

I’d actually go for Ward-Prowse at Soton as Hoodle recently suggested. Will work his socks off in the middle of the park, has a keen eye for a surgical pass, and is a dead ball specialist. If Spurs are actually considering Eriksen (which I doubt), why not go for a player who will count as homegrown and who will likely be motivated to join Spurs vs. Eriksen who was clearly not motivated to stay at Spurs and is now bereft of confidence and form. Obviously, the key issue is Ward-Prowse’s fee which will likely be exorbitant. But if Alli and others are sold, then maybe that frees up some dosh for incomings.

And he won’t work hard enough for Mourinho.

And Inter are pricing Eriksen at £30 million or more, almost twice what Spurs got for him, so won’t happen.

Also he won’t return with his tail between his legs. And Dele is going nowhere, a load of rubbish story.

A couple of things on this, first eriksen is classed as foreign and alli homegrown. We have no room in our pl squad for foreign players and not enough home grown. Eriksen is on silly money at inter far more than Kane so can’t see it happening
