‘Great passion’ – Hugo Lloris talks life under manager Antonio Conte

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur had a tough start to their 2021-22 season resulting in the north London club deciding to sack manager Nuno Espírito Santo and bring in Antonio Conte. The Italian tactician has turned the ship around and his the squad fighting for a top-four spot.

Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris spoke with The Times, where the France international let everyone know what’s life under Conte since he took over the managerial role in late November. Lloris stated that the Italian tactician is demanding and brings that passion for football.

“The club is working in a good way. And now we have Antonio Conte to get everything onside and try to reduce the gap with the best. His CV speaks for itself as a player for Juventus and as a manager for Juventus, Chelsea, and Inter Milan. Everywhere he went, he won,” Lloris said.

“He has a great energy, a great passion for football. He’s got his own concept in terms of training sessions and way of playing. We know exactly what we have to do with and without the ball. He’s very demanding. He has this winning mentality and is trying with his coaching staff to build something strong for the next few years at Spurs.”

Conte has begun transforming Tottenham into his vision as last month saw departures of players who he doesn’t see fit for the squad. Names like Giovani Lo Celso and Dele Alli all left, and the makeover began with Juventus duo Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur coming in.

Spurs hope that the additions and subtractions will be enough for them to land a UEFA Champions League spot for next season.
