“Give Him Time” Rose Sure “Awesome” Midfielder Can Fill The Dembele Void [Video]

By Joe Fish -

Danny Rose has backed Tanguy Ndombele to come good and eventually fill the void left by Moussa Dembele at Tottenham.

In an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live, the long-serving left-back, who has joined Newcastle United on loan for the rest of the season, admitted that Dembele’s departure left the squad feeling ‘disheartened’.

Ndombele is his heir apparent, boasting a similar combination of physical presence and ball-carrying ability which we have only seen in glimpses thus far due to the 23-year-old’s frankly embarrassing fitness levels.

But Rose has encouraged fans to give the summer signing from Lyon time, describing him as “awesome” – and we all know from the ‘Google’ incident that the 29-year-old isn’t easily impressed by new arrivals.

Without really knowing I get the feeling that Lamela’s issues are soft tissue and wear and tear whereas Tanguy seems to lack a fitness base and can’t trust his own body. The summer pre-season will reveal all.

Have to wonder about the level of fitness in the French 1st division.

One dynamo who won’t be arriving in the summer is Grealsh off to Manchester pastures new!

Three good signings from Levy in what was the end of Poch’s era, and two good signings in the Jose era so far (be it one thats a punt) …Levy needs to learn how to sell (or move on) as well as buy but whats more important is getting players in to cover the huge gaps we have in positions rather than a deal that has “less risk” should it not work out…this Summer will be interesting..

Can clearly see Ndombele has talent, skill, technical ability, strength, etc but I’m probably more fit than he is right now!? Hopefully we’ll start to see his stamina/fitness improve now that the coaching staff are on top of it!

His fitness is an issue though,we don’t need another Lamela on our hands.I hope he comes good.

Happy to have given him time had we paid a realistic price – say £25-30 million for a crocked and unfit player.

Rose is being very cunning with his endorsement on Tanguy…

Tanguy is a real talent, anyone writing him off is surely just focusing on his fitness rather than the overall picture.
