‘Get Ready’ – Fabrizio Romano states Antonio Conte’s remarks about his future are typical

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte caused some to ponder whether the 52-year-old was ready to leave his post despite having a contract until 2023. However, he did pour some water on those rumors, saying he’s committed to the project.

However, if Spurs supporters needed more reassurance, transfer window and Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano (via This Is Futbol) provided some comfort. Romano stated fans should not be too nervous about the Italian’s position at the club since Conte’s remarks are a regular thing after a loss.

“We’re talking about a man who wins everywhere he goes, but he has this kind of reaction when the team is not what he wants and when the results are not what he wants,” Romano said.

“Antonio Conte, when he’s losing a game, he goes mad. He can’t accept to lose one single game. So this is Antonio Conte’s mentality, and get ready because this will always be Antonio Conte.”

Conte wants Tottenham to invest a significant amount to build a squad capable of competing against Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City. The Spurs boss wants to bring silverware to north London, but he understands that financial commitments are needed.

It seems the Italian manager will get that from chairman Daniel Levy which is why he shot down any rumors about his possible departure from Tottenham, who are seeing their top-four hopes slip away.

Because of the finances compared to other jobs he could get.

Short contract? Like Thomas T at Chelseas? We have two top Italians at Tottenham yet people still moan. There’s nothing wrong with levy and contes relationship (media rubbish)
Conte WILL BE BACKED
How are you by the way mate?

Doubt Potter would take it, job’s too big. It’s obvious to me that Conte agreed to help his mate out as a fixer on a short contract and massive wages until a club with real backing comes along. I might be wrong, but Levy and Conte just doesn’t feel like a long term proposition. The way Conte has been talking over the last few weeks suggests it has a limited shelf life…

Poch and levy get on very well. Poch would have no problems working under levy again. “” “Poisoned chalice? Yet conte is here. Bigger job in London? Where? Poch can come back when he’s won something (not before) I’d rather Potter anyway. Poch can’t bring his hated coaching staff with him. Zee zee can come.

Even Potter distanced himself from the job, who wants to get sacked in 8 months time and have their rep damaged, for not getting top 4 with a substandard squad? This is the third season in succession and the third manager who’s not found the solution. If Conte can’t then nobody will.

We got top four on a low budget compared to the clubs around us under Pochettino with a young squad. Once they stopped backing him to keep the squad fresh we’ve gone backwards an three managers have failed to fix it. Simply because the owners expect to do it on the cheap. Pochettino had a formula for a while at Spurs which masked the lack of investment in the playing squad. That was even before Levy racked up 800m of debt!

All we are seeing now is the actual reality of ENIC’s spending…

Conte won’t be sticking around for long, which begs the question who wants the poisoned chalice Spurs job? It’s a miracle Conte is here at all, probably something to do with his relationship with Paratici and a massive salary. Bigger jobs coming up that Conte will be offered, that’s for sure.

Cast your mind back to the summer and the embarrassment of the manager search. Sure, probably best to never go back but If Pochettino is the only decent manager prepared to work under these crooks then why cut off your nose to spite your face?

That’s were we are at under ENIC, if you accept that they ain’t leaving then also accept the best scenario under the limitations. Gattuso anyone? Some people would rather have Big Sam than Poch, anyone but Poch. I don’t believe he’d work under Levy again, but then again most managers don’t want to work under him anyway, as last summer proved. So if Pochettino was prepared to return but you’d block that move, suggest another half decent candidate. There are none…

Let’s hope Pooch goes to Real Madrid as that will screw up Leby and ENIC’s plan.
