Former Gunner claims new Tottenham signing wouldn’t get ‘in the Arsenal XI’

By Eddie Razo -

Everton FC forward Richarlison is heading to Tottenham Hotspur to be the latest addition to a squad that hopes to challenge for silverware next season.

Under manager Antonio Conte, the north London club wants to do more than finish in the top four. During a segment on talkSPORTpundit Jack Wilshere stated that the arrival of the Brazilian could be a “very good” signing for Tottenham.

However, as a former Arsenal player and supporter, Wilshere did add that The Gunners won’t be losing sleep over missing on the soon-to-be Everton star. Furthermore, he said that Richarlison wouldn’t find his way into the Arsenal starting eleven.

“I think he improves the [Tottenham] squad, definitely. He gives them something different,” Wilshere said. “I wouldn’t say I’m gutted [as an Arsenal fan]. He’s 25, so he’s not young. There comes a point where he’s going to have to turn all that potential into something.”

“To be fair if anyone can do it it’s probably Antonio Conte. So I wouldn’t say I was devastated as an Arsenal fan but I think he will be one to watch, he could be really, really good. Yeah [I’d have him at Arsenal]. I don’t think he gets in the XI. He definitely would challenge for it and would be a good part of the squad. But I don’t think he gets in the XI.”

Richarlison won’t be asked to be the star or be the one that leads the attack for Tottenham when he does arrive. The Brazilian will move into a supporting role where he will support Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

The Brazilian could also take advantage of defences zoning in on his new teammates to open him up for more scoring chances. Nonetheless, with both north London clubs having new forwards, the comparison will be there all season.

And so much more entertaining. How he gets a forum on Talk Crap is beyond me. He’s nothing more that a twisted little scum bag whose anti-Spurs bias is on full display for all to see or hear.

Richarlison and Jesus both scored in the Copa America final for Brazil in 2019 (Richarlison as the 9 by the way, Jesus on the right)

Since then, Jesus has scored once for Brazil, against S Korea recently. Richarlison has eight in the same period, including one in the same Korea game (starting as their 9)

Martinelli has 78 minutes for Brazil in total.

But sure, he doesn’t start for Arsenal over these two, Jack

Making too much sense, take the week off. Oh it is Friday. If Arsenal team is the barometer to judge whether a player is good enough, then we are in a world of do do. They might have prosoect, but outside of Saka there was/are/is zero consistency. And an awful manager to go with it.

If this does nothing else , it highlights the fact that Spurs are at least THINKING they are a massive club that players around the world would like to be associated with.
Please give Conte the credit in being the manager that persuaded Mr Levy , finally , to re-invest at the right time [ CL Qualification] and lets crack on , honestly admit its a great time to be a Spurs supporter .
For a moment anything is possible , for the future this is a baby step we take but may herald a more adventurous Chairman these next , so important years .
RIGHT – I’M READYING MY ARSE TO BE SMACKED !! C O Y S !!!!!!

He is a 100% cork.
No sign at all of sour grapes.
Probably still upset at us signing Bissouma.
He is the one every fan wanted.

Let’s hope we win the league just to see him jog along to Australia (if they’d have him)

Actually he’s slightly younger than Jesus and would get in the Arsenal XI ahead of him, as well as Nketiah. His strike rate for Brazil is superior to Jesus, plus he is a more complete player. Bigger, stronger physically, much better in the air and a more complete striker. Jesus is more of a ‘fox in the box’ type of striker, so it will be interesting to see if he gets the service at Arsenal, which enabled him to be quite prolific at City. The likely answer is no.

He doesn’t get it, at the top level of clubs just because you’re spending £50 mill shouldn’t mean that’s a guaranteed starter…Chelsea will buy three or four about that price, they won’t all start. City are an entire squad of acquisitions about that price and they rotate them all, all the time. This ‘would =he make our best 11’ is redundant…the big teams shouldn’t have a ‘best 11’, City don’t! It is constantly in flux and open to change, all their players are high class and capable.

This is the signing that shows it might be clicking with Levy, this is how a big club enters the market. Depth, rotation, strong mentality.

Arsenal are still small school mentality throwing a huff about other teams buying readymade and beating the ‘youth’ drum…so a bit like us during the Poch era. We’re attempting to move beyond the ‘project’ ‘jam tomorrow’ ‘we have the moral high ground’ club mentality on the insistence of Conte.

He says Richarlison isn’t young…he’s young enough. He’s already a full international, for Brazil, hardly think he has too much to prove Jack.

He’s probably right; and I don’t expect him to threaten our front three straight away. TBH, everything about this signing screams of disaster to me, but there’s also some hope that, maybe, just maybe, Conte can get something special out of the lad. COYS!
