Dier excited about what is to come from his new teammate after Brighton performance

Eric Dier is excited about the prospect of a fit and firing Gareth Bale playing for Tottenham now that he has got his first league goal for the club.

After seven years, the Welshman scored another league goal for Spurs which helped them to a 2-1 win against a stubborn Brighton side.

That goal will have given him more confidence to go for even more in the weeks and months ahead.

Bale was signed on loan from Real Madrid this summer to help improve Spurs attack as they look to end their wait for a trophy.

He has been one of the best attackers in Europe since he left Tottenham for Real Madrid in 2013.

Bale will need some time to get up to speed with the Premier League and Jose Mourinho is keen to ensure that he is eased into life in the English top flight.

Dier claims that the Welshman simply keeps getting better and that he and his teammates are excited to have him around them after he scored his first goal for the club.

He said, as quoted by The Sun: “I’m sure he feels great to get his first goal.

“He’s up and running again.

“He’s obviously getting his match fitness back and he’s looking better and feeling better every time.

“We’re very excited to have him here and obviously he’s helped the team massively today.”

On the prospect of Bale teaming up with Son Heung-min and Harry Kane upfront, he added: “Everyone knows the quality those three have.

“They’re all fantastic players and they all have individual quality to create a moment at any time. They have the quality to go [connect] with the rest of the team.

“Gareth’s goal was a great ball from Sergio Reguilon and he’s finished it off. It’s great for us to have that type of quality within all areas.

“I think we have a lot of depth. We also have Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela who I thought was fantastic today again, the effort he puts in is incredible.

“We’ve got a lot of options up front to do different things.”
