One out-of-form player at Tottenham at the moment is Dele Alli. The Englishman is no longer considered an obvious starter in the England national team following an alarming dip in form.
He has also fallen out of favour with Jose Mourinho, with the Special One no longer relying on him to give a fine performance.
However, his national teammate, Eric Dier thinks this is just a bad patch that the former MK Dons man is going through and he backed him to come out of the slump he is currently in.
He claimed that he has also been out of the first-team picture for a while and he has only just fought his way back in.
He expects Alli to knuckle down and work hard to get back to the level that he was a year ago.
“Of he course he can, I wasn’t in it for a year and a bit myself, so I think it is definitely possible,” Dier said via Independent.
“Someone with his quality and what his attributes are, he is still a fantastic player, you don’t lose that overnight and he is going through a difficult time, it is no secret to anyone, but as footballers, there is always going to be moments like these. Everyone has them in their careers and Dele has got a fantastic personality.
“I am sure he is going to get down to work and put his head down and try and get back where he was a year ago or so.
“It is really in his hands and I am looking forward to seeing his reaction over the next couple of months and I am sure he is going to be highly motivated.”
Alli has already earned 37 caps for England and he is still just 24, so he will still get more chances as long as he gets his level of performance up.
