Daniel Levy hopes of getting fans back into the stadium take a hit

By Bruce Grove -

Daniel Levy’s plans to see around 7.5 per cent Tottenham fans attend the opening game of the season against Everton has taken a major hit due to the rising cases of covid19.

Fans have been away from the Stadiums since March when the coronavirus pandemic first broke out.

It had been hoped that the first games of the Premier League season might see some supporters return to the stadiums.

After Chelsea and Brighton faced each other in a preseason game that saw a few fans attend, Spurs had applied for around 8,000 of their fans be allowed to attend their league opening fixture against Everton, according to Sun Sports.

However, the spike in covid19 case has now made the Government announce that they plan to review their plans to allow fans to return to stadiums for sporting events.

This means that Levy’s plans have now been shattered and Spurs will likely have to wait until next month when a few fans will be allowed back into stadiums if things don’t change for the worse.

Spurs have been one of the worse-hit teams since the fans have been absent from the stands because they have one of the newest and biggest stadiums.

It is a major source of income for the club including through hosting concerts and NFL games, but since the pandemic started, none of those events has been hosted.
