Big Breakfast feat. Gareth Bale, Wilfried Zaha and Steve Hitchen

By The Boy -

With just days remaining before the close of this summer’s window, on the surface, there is very little to encourage confidence. The ITKs in places beyond this one are busy prefacing their pearls of wisdom with language like, ‘We are still interested in…’ which is somewhat like a man in a burning building having an interest in a fire engine.

Tottenham’s options are rapidly ebbing away, and at the risk of having found a whipping boy, one cannot help but wonder what Steve Hitchen has actually been doing, since the last window closed. Hitchen’s interview on All or Nothing was brief, yet I’ve seen more signs life in a tramp’s vest. The void is filled with the standard issue fare, with Gareth Bale now being available on a half price salary. Which is still £100,000 more per week than we are currently paying Harry Kane.

I’m fascinated to know where the optimism that fuels this fairytale comes from. The financial walls are closing in on Spurs, more so than any other Premier League side. Ballpark a billion pound’s worth of debt, a stadium which has little to no hope of being full for perhaps another 6 months, and the very real threat of commercial deals being slashed in value.

Just when it couldn’t be any worse, the old Zaha to Spurs rumour rears its tired and hideous head again. We’ve been linked with this guy since 2016. Thanks, but no, thanks.

But then, to quote Mr Levy, “…fans generally have no comprehension of how hard physically do a transfer”.

He forgot to add, ‘…at Tottenham”.

Zaha is now a star at 70 million odd.. He is palace best player… Levy says himself though he doesn’t sign superstars. He makes them…. Striker and left back needed.

I see where you’re coming from, with that money you could get two top draw 25 year olds.

Sessegnon looks nowhere near ready to play left back at the top level yet, needs a loan or two out. Clarke I have no opinion on, he’s a kid.

This is my main point about Levy, all the transfers are about potential profit 5 seasons on and nothing to do with improving the team in the present.

Poch wanted (and deserved) to get Dybala, Fernandez and Coutinhio on loan. Would they have improved us? Without doubt they would.

In the ‘Atrocious Reality TV Show’ Levy has the bare faced cheek to say that he’s “extremely frustrated if the team isn’t improved at by end of the transfer window”.

Listen mate, if you’re going to sign two kids under 20 from the Championship and another two under 22 from overseas, why the f**ck would you expect that window to improve the team?

When you also go a WHOLE CALENDAR YEAR without making a single signing then ‘frustration’ doesn’t come into it. You either aren’t very good at your job and/or you’re a lying f**cking toad who assumes the fan base are thick as sh*t.

Bit of both I reckon…

I’d get a good “patcher upper” in, and lock off the back more with the money. Get a top young striker in next summer. (Save up a bit more dough)

My man tom loizou (Haringey borough FC manager) used to manage leyton with Wayne Burnett. He managed Ledley king there and according to him he’s the reason Ledley turned out so good🌚 Tom’s still in close contact with Wayne Burnett and is my number 2 ticket guy if my number one guy can’t come through🌚 when I asked tom if he’d take over our PL2 team he said “I’d only go to Tottenham to manage the first team🌚 up the spuringey. Tom won it all as a player and a manager in the Greek league.

NO BALE ! No ZAHA! No DEENEY! please! If we must buy a striker (and with Kane wasting his time playing for England, We must.) let’s get someone with a future that is not on the downside of his football career. It’s just a matter of time until Southgate uses him up and he is injured or goes off form.

Gio and Tanguy are both very talented midfielders, Gio has more balls than Tanguy. Argie players are often hard as nails with good technique.

Tanguy needs a bit of work still, not quite mastered the role we need him for yet. Mind you, if you keep signing players only under 23 you’re gonna come unstuck eventually and have a repair job on your hands…

They first suggested Meunier on a free, then it was Castagne around£20m,when we landed Doherty for £12m plus I couldn’t believe it.My only concern is he played wingback not fullback. Wolves played with 3 centrehalf’s.

It does, but setting all that aside, Doherty’s probably still the best signing we could have made in that position without spending insane amounts of money. Very, very good business there.

Nobody wants to come to a club where they are guaranteed to be the second choice and struggle to get minutes (nobody besides washed up mediocre dreck like Joe Hart…3rd choice at best, only signed for being cheap and english)

Expect Diallo as the last incoming player. The Milik deal is too complicated – all depends on whether Roma sell Dzeko to Juve.

Zaha has a bad attitude, even if he cost 30M I wouldn’t want him in the squad. A petulant moaner, the expression on his face is almost always that of a whining brat. Don’t want that toxic clown anywhere near our squad.

As much as I would like to believe Reguilon would come to Spurs, I doubt we can compete on salary and we have no CL.And although OGS probably isn’t a big draw card the other two factors are. Plus RM will want as much as they can get for him, what with Bale bleeding them dry.

We are trying to replace Rose with Reguilon who Jose apparently has contacted to convince him to come to Spurs instead of Utd,he would be a starter with Davies as back up. Best Leftback in la liga last year as well as winning the Europa league with Seville.

Panama Paul
Panama Paul

Exactly, we now no longer need to rely on Aurier. We also need to get someone in to replace Rose. Is is too ambitious to try and address the squad issues in one window? Ideally we need to be shot of both Rose and Aurier this window to remove any toxicity from the dressing room.

We are in a better position having signed Doherty,we can either keep Aurier as back up or if Levy gets his price buy someone else.

There is a world-wide conspiracy to dumb people down by suggesting or influencing what they ought to think based on news, social and other media manipulation. The reality is that this ‘reality’ documentary isn’t all that real, just like a lot of other reality TV shows with staged scenes and interactions. However, if you switch of the reasoning part of your brain it becomes believable because you are being lazy, zoning out, but subconsciously absorbing what you see and hear, which in turn influnces your perception, thoughts and actions. If you go to the effort of investigating the facts a different picture emerges but it takes a conscious effort to ask searching questions. When we stop asking questions about what is being fed to us we’re done for. AON is a win-win for both ENIC and Amazon – an additional revenue stream for both but for ENIC it is also a propaganda vehicle to hoodwink supporters into overlooking the glaring shortcomings of ENIC and its leadership. Such short-comings are exposed by close scrutiny of the facts but the cries of those who see through the smokescreen and see the truth are drowned out by the bleating of the sheep.

Not even any rumblings of striker news in the last few days. In fact the only relevant news is that ones we were possibly interested in have now been bought by other teams – Wilson and Watkins.

The start of the season is approaching fast and I have no idea how we will navigate our crazy schedule with only Kane. Literally anyone would be better than nothing right now! I can’t believe we will go through another season like this. Even Levy must realise this is football suicide.

Just from a player welfare stance this is pathetic. Harry is the clubs biggest most bankable asset. You protect your assets you don’t run them into the ground.

When it comes to selling him and every club looks for a big discount because of his injury record then you have nobody to blame but yourself.

Six out of the seven players you listed would have been bought with the idea of them making the starting eleven.Levy doesn’t want to spend big on a player (striker )to possibly sit on the bench all season behind Kane. I think the message has sunk in and Jose won’t let him get away this transfer window without filling that slot.

Signing a striker has been a problem stretching back a number of years now but Levy doesn’t seem to have a problem spending money on other areas of the park. The last 2 windows alone we bought – Ndombele, Lo Celso, Sess, Bergwjin, Clarke, Doherty, Hoijberg. Why is signing a striker such a massive problem for him? Is it purely the Kane factor or is he avoiding spending proper money in the hope that Troy will come good and he won’t need to spend? Levy spouts on about how complex it is getting deals done, how the market is not liquid like he’s talking about the housing sector. Yet every other club seems to be able to get deals done without much fuss which suggests Levy is the one complicating things.

Villa knew Spurs wanted him and would have lost out in a straight fight if both clubs had offered the same.We could have offered him European football, they will be fighting relegation again. They felt the pressure and went in high hoping to secure him and knowing Levy didn’t want an auction paying £28m with £5m in add on’s.His price is on the high side maybe being English & homegrown is a factor as well
