Daniel Levy delivers trophy winning task for Mourinho

By Bruce Grove -

Daniel Levy has told Jose Mourinho that Spurs are in a period where they need to win trophies and shake off the “sleeping giants” tag.

The Lilywhites have been without a trophy for a very long time now and after reaching the final of the Champions League in the 2018/19 campaign, they are hungry for success.

They were expecting to build on reaching that Champions League final and they had the highest net spend by all the teams in England, yet the campaign started so badly that it cost Mauricio Pochettino his job.

The team is now being managed by Mourinho, who is proven at winning top trophies having won three Premier Leagues and two Champions Leagues during his managerial career.

Levy was speaking in the Amazon’s All or Nothing Docuseries on Tottenham and claimed that they have come a long way and they need to win trophies now.

He said as quoted by Sun Online: “Tottenham, when I took over, was a much smaller club than it is today.

“I saw this club as a sleeping giant.

“We are now in a period where we need to win.

“I am a Spurs fan and I want to see this club continue to grow — and I want to see trophies.”

That’s what Poch said and everyone hated on him real bad. Not Levy’s fault though, he was building a stadium.

A mistake of Levy’s was not realizing sooner that we couldn’t keep up with the big boys financially at the little old lane. We weren’t attracting no one (players and managers) and when we were we couldn’t afford to buy them let alone pay them. Took him too long to get to the “enough is enough” stage. Shoulda brought el tel back too also. (Soon as he sacked raincoat man) and kept him away from the money bit🌚

I’m not making excuses for him I’m just saying we are where we are. The futures bright. Like I’ve said “I’m max% sure the next 20 years will make up for the last. Won’t be hard not to.

You can carry on making excuses for him, but as I have told you before, like history, the past can help you to see into the future. I don’t long for the days of Irving Scholar or Alan Sugar, but I know when I am being conned, along with the other supporters.

That’s all in the past now though. Theres nothing in the past for me. Didn’t he start the stadium ball rolling before redknapp? I don’t think he expected redknap to do that well. Was a big call not to back him when we were close. He just said “nope. I’m getting this stadium built. Its built now. Let’s move forward.

Firstly, he wasn’t building a stadium when Redknapp was the manager and Levy recruited Saha and Nelsen. Secondly, he was asked directly when Poch was the manager whether the building of the new stadium would impact our spending in the transfer market, and he said not, and proceeded not to buy a player for two windows, unheard of by any team in Europe. Time you saw through this charlatan.

It’s all complete bull****. If he had wanted to win trophies in the last twenty years when we had two particularly good teams under Redknapp and Pochettino, he would have backed them in the transfer market. Instead he signed Saha and Nelsen for Redknapp, and Poch’s reward was two transfer windows without a signing. Everything that comes out of this little weasel’s mouth is a lie and it’s always the manager that takes the blame for his incompetence in the transfer market. It doesn’t matter who the manager is, we will never have success as a football club with this finagling little creep at the helm.

We ain’t got enough maybe to battle on four fronts. The league cup should be only 3 players allowed over 21

Levy needs to supply Mourinho with the tools to get a trophy, by that, signing Daka and Kim Min-Jae are musts. Both fantastic players that can be bought for prices in our budget and which will increase plenty, that should be all the incentive Levy needs to get these done NOW.

He doesn’t care about success on the pitch other than top 4 finish. He’s only saying that because he realises more and more fans are seeing through his smoke and mirrors.
If he was serious,as the CEO of the 8th.richest club in the world,he would be saying OK Jose here is where we spend what we have to to go to the next level and for you to continue your winning sequence as a manager.
Anything less is BS and he’s shown a lot of that in the soap opera so far.
