The central defense is an area in which Tottenham Hotspur hopes to upgrade, and one target they have their eyes on this summer is Torino FC’s, Gleison Bremer. The Brazil international has caught the attention of several clubs.
TuttoSport reports that one thing could keep some clubs from landing the 25-year-old, and that is he has a pact with the Italian club for a move to another team that is in Champions League football. Nonetheless, for now, Spurs find themselves in Europe’s top competition.
However, the report also indicates that Spurs are eyeing another Torino player, Wilfried Singo. The 21-year-old is a right-back, which could fill the need for a right wing-back for next season. Manager Antonio Conte and Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici are ready to hit the double strike with a €50-million offer for both.
Along with finding a need at central defense and wing-back, they’ll need a backup goalkeeper to go behind Hugo Lloris since Pierluigi Gollini will be exiting. One target they have in mind is pending West Brom free agent Sam Johnstone, but they face competition.
Mirror reports that Everton is keen on the 29-year-old because they face a battle to keep their starting goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. Johnstone wants to be in the Premier League next season, but if The Toffees due get relegated, it means one less competitor for the veteran shot-stopper.
Don’t forget the Barca shirt mate …
I think the way our transfers work is that Paratici identifies players then goes to Levy with a list of targets that has 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices, with expected costs for each. Levy turns the list upside down so that the cheapest 3rd choices are now top of the list and rubber stamps them ignoring the others. That’s how we got Emerson Royal.
