Tottenham might be landing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan this summer, according to reports.
The Croatian has been a long-term target of Jose Mourinho and the Portuguese manager might finally get his man, albeit in exchange for another player.
The winger has been on loan at Bayern Munich this season and although the Germans have the option of keeping him permanently, they haven’t shown the willingness to do that and they have just signed Leroy Sane from Manchester City.
This has opened the door for Tottenham to make their move for him and CalcioMercato reckons that he might be ending up at the London side this summer.
The report claims that Tottenham is exploring the possibility of using Erik Lamela to land the former Borussia Dortmund winger.
It claims that Inter might be interested in Lamela, as the Argentinean has already played in the Italian top flight.
Lamela has been reduced to bit-part roles at Tottenham for some time now and if the club can use him to land a player that has scored 6 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions for Bayern this season, it won’t be bad business.
Perisic is very experienced having played for top teams in at least two of Europe’s top five leagues, he would probably also be valuable to Spurs in the Europa League next season
Perisic is still a good player, but probably looking for his last big contract.
I don’t see the long term benefit in it for the team.
Swaps difficult to pull off, as you need both parties to agree, so can’t see it.
Not for me, he wont be hungry enough, at least Lamela is hopefully finally ready, he’s been through personal hell and we all know his sick note tag which is his downside, but he’s been good for us recently under Jose, grit and determination unlike a lot of others and is happy to play for Spurs
