3 Big Points From Mourinho’s Pre-Zagreb Video Presser

By The Boy -

SQUAD NEWS Sonny is out, Joe Rodon isn’t registered, and Giovani Lo Celso is back in training

WHY IS KANE PLAYING? Because as José put it, the tie is still open. This confirms that the Portuguese is not leaving even the tiniest opportunity for this qualification to be denied.

SONNY TO JAPAN? Club before country and Son will not be travelling to the Far East under any circumstances, he needs to heal, and he needs to play for Tottenham.

He’s played a lot of football since last season. He hasn’t stopped.

Some would prefer playing Madrid in the CL over a league cup. The same folk that bang on about the corporates taking over bla bla bla

I’d have winning the Europa League over getting Into the CL all day long. Sorry Daniel.

People moan about only winning 2 cups or whatever under levy yet the belittle the league cup. Some people just chat rubbish for the sake of it.

When I started supporting Spurs, I never understood why Arsenal fans thought always getting top 4 only to get eliminated by Barca or Bayern in the last 16 of the CL was some sort of great achievement.

Winning the EL would dwarf the CL final easily, but some fans still think the competition is somehow beneath us. I thought that too for a time, but it’s nonsense. Whenever we met a decent side in the EL, we were sent packing, so we should get off our high horses and go all out to win it – and I’m glad we have Jose who will do his best to do just that.

Winners don’t cherry pick. They want to win everything they possibly can, and that’s the mentality I want to see at Spurs.

If there’s something to be won I say win it. Problem we have however are fans who now think finishing top 4 to get in the CL is winning. It’s not. Woolwich fans crowed about continually getting in the top 4 but ignored the fact it didn’t bring them anything. It gave them bragging rights over us playing Thurs nights in the EL Fast forward and here we are, or rather some fans are doing exactly the same.

Poch didn’t help matters when he said winning domestic trophy’s was meaningless. For the old guard like me that told me the man was never destined to win anything for us. Winners, like I said at the beginning want to win everything there is to win. Love him or hate him in Jose we have that winner. He wants to win the league cup and importantly the EL too. He will play the strongest team he can to ensure that.

I would love us to win the EL, but I don’t understand downplaying the League Cup either. It’s a trophy! And if we do win it, we’ll have done so beating Chelsea and City, which wouldn’t be too shabby.

Jose sees winning the EL as an important trophy to win. Trophy snobs however don’t. Like the league cup if we win it. It’ll all come down to the holy grail of winning the CL. Well, we had that chance and blew it. Or rather Poch did.

Hope he can withstand the rigours of Premier League football, as he is a talent, but his fragility is worrying.
