According to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor, Tottenham Hotspur have ‘100%’ identified Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore as a ‘target.’
Spurs were interested in him back in January as well but were unable to lure the 26-year-old away from Molineux, as he instead chose to re-join his boyhood club Barcelona on a six-month loan deal.
Tottenham have since then ‘remained interested’ in the speedster, according to The Express, despite having already signed seven players this summer. Traore is set to become a free agent at the end of the season after turning down several contract extension offers last season, and his stance on signing a new contract has not changed.
As a result, it is believed that the winger is now available at a reduced price in this window, with Bruno Lage’s side eager to cash in on the forward if a reasonable offer comes in.
And now Taylor has confirmed that Spurs’ interest is very much real. He told GIVEMESPORT:
“Adama Traore is 100% a target as well. And the fact he’s out of contract next summer means he could be available for literally, we’re talking £10 million, £15 million.”
Traore, who has previously been described as ‘undefendable‘ by Jurgen Klopp would be a versatile option for Conte to work with. The Italian could use him on the wing, as a makeshift striker, or as a wing-back.
Tottenham have lacked depth in the final third in recent seasons, and Conte made it one of his top priorities this summer to address that issue.
“A ridiculously bad punt H?” You mean us? Spurs? Levy? Surely not! … Admittedly I would describe Gil as a player who we grossly overpaid for, who also wasn’t suited physically to the Premier League, but come on, compared to Ndombele and Lo Celse he was almost a bargain!
Shouldn’t be as it’s commonly made from mineral oil and not animal fat.
I know you were joking H 😉
So Gil offers nothing and you saw more than nothing in Traore ..is it because he is bigger..Beefcake garbage
What has Traore done of any note in the past 2 seasons ..look big that’s what ..Any reasons for buying Adama Traore lay outside football..he isn’t good enough ..or will he replace Kulu.
Aaron Lennon on steds would be useful from the bench against teams that play a high line. He can’t play football for toffee though.
I wouldn’t send wither of them for newspaper, mate!
His stats are still better than Maupay’s and it could be argued he singlehandedly kept Everton in the PL.I doubt you could rely on Maupay to do that.
Is baby oil fattening?
Would be far more useful to us than Gil, for a bargain price I’m in. He’d help us close out games – so many times we can’t move/hold the ball up the pitch under pressure, think he’d help.
Still ideally we’d sign another central defender and a creative mid…but if Gil goes this would be the direct replacement so don’t see the issues as totally related.
Does Traore want to come to a team that’s banned red sauces?
This is a very good analogy!
Gil didn’t cost us very much. Nowhere near £45m, but he was a ridiculously bad punt.
Er… this is the same Everton that paid £10m more than that for Richarlison 🤣
How desperate must Everton be to pay 25M for Maupay,a striker who has only hit double figures once(10) in the PL.His stats show he is Championship level at best.Haha even if they did pull our pants down with Dele.
Your points about Tosin are well made, but didn’t we try this with Rodon who had similar attributes, albeit without the PL experience.Besides our need for a quality CB are immediate.Oh and plus a quality playmaker.
NO end product,no thanks.
There is a reason he can’t get a start at mid table Wolves. He’s like a bigger Royal with more pace.
Well said, not much chance of losing money on either and great potential in both.
Judging players’ performances under Nuno is a hiding to nothing.
Two players whose contracts expire in June 2023 and worth an offer are Tosin Adarabioyo of Fulham, and Adama Traore of Wolves.
Tosin Adarabioyo is a young English center back. Very tall, good pace, physical, PL experienced. I think with the right coaching staff and the right players surrounding him, he could fast develop into a solid and reliable long term stalwart for Spurs.
If he doesn’t, well, he is 23 and English, and is physically gifted. Give him some exposure and sell him back out if needed. However – I believe he would be a good fit that is nearly ready right now.
Traore – Again would likely come without a huge investment. I believe with the imminent departure of Gil, this transfer has legs. He could be tried out in spot duty as a developing right wingback, and substitute across the front when needed as well. Again, if it does not work, he is of sellable age and is very physically gifted. Should be no harm in trying him out.
Now then, if there is a much bigger target in mind out there than either of these two, go get it done. If not, well then I think either or both of the above could be of good use.
Have you seen ANYTHING from Gil since he’s been with us? I remember one game he played under Nuno in Europe and he was dreadful. He cost us 45m given we lost Lamela in the deal. I saw more from Traore in those 10 minutes last Saturday than I did from Gil in how long? almost 2 years is it?
Looked pretty “defendable” when he came on last Saturday!
