Tottenham has been linked with a move for Wilfried Zaha as he targets leaving Crystal Palace for a bigger team.
The Ivorian is one of the Premier League’s best attackers and he has been a long-term target of Tottenham.
At 28, he knows he doesn’t have much time left in the game and wants to join a top team now.
Spurs will bolster their squad when the transfer window reopens and has him on their list of targets.
Goal.com says the Lilywhites are facing a battle with Everton over his signature with the Toffees also keen to have him on their books.
Everton tried to sign him and had two bids for his signature rejected by Palace in 2019.
The Toffees will now try again as they bid to become an established European team under Carlo Ancelotti.
The report says Zaha, who had previously been overpriced to many teams, remains a key part of Palace’s plans for the future.
However, they have a softer stance on his signature now and they will make him available for around £40million, according to the same report.
In a boost to Tottenham’s chances of signing him, Arsenal has abandoned their pursuit of his signature and the Gunners are focused on signing Emi Buendia now.
He is still coming….Is’nt he?? 🙂
The players you swerve are sometimes as important as the ones you actually get
Willian anyone?
Absolutely no !
This is utter fake news! I believe Poch wanted the little Gooner about 4 years ago, when he was admittedly a half-decent player, but nothing came of it and now another wholly implausible link to the same under-achiever, for an absurdly inflated price.
Total hokum, Clem!
Calm down love, you’ll have a Connery ☺️
Apart from the odd flash of brilliance which keeps his profile a little higher than most mid table level players, Zaha is mid table quality when consistency is taken into account. He seems perfect for us.
Like you said, he is a maybe at 20mill. For the reported 40? A big no no
Zaha to Spurs is almost as long a saga as Damiao
Emerges? we’ve been linked to him every season haven’t we?
I see the annual “Zaha to Spurs” rumours have started early this year.
I suppose you have Bale who can score more than that, so what’s the point? No transfer fee for Bale either, can’t see it happening.
Depends what you mean by “enough”. Looked up his stats at Palace. Since the 14/15 season he has the following record per year (league only): 4 goals, 2, 7, 9, 10, 4 and 11.
If you could get him for £20 million maybe. Just no real wow factor, does he score enough?
Well wouldn’t you know it, above average spring rainfall and up pops that early perennial called floribunda Zaha. It’s been growing well for quite a few years now but never seems to come into flower.
