Report details Atletico Madrid star using Spurs, Premier League interest for a new deal

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur is attempting to upgrade their forward group to add scoring depth behind their two star players, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. The north London club began this process this past January when they brought Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus.

One of the newest players linked to the Premier League side is Atlético Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco. The 28-year-old is under contract until 2024, but AS reports Spurs, Chelsea, and Manchester United are keen on the Belgium international after details of his €60 million (£51.5 million) release clause emerged.

However, Carrasco is a fundamental player in Diego Simeone’s plans, which is why the Argentine coach has ordered the La Liga side to disregard the official offers for the forward. Nonetheless, the player does want to review any interest considering his contract is up in two years.

The Atlético Madrid winger isn’t contemplating a departure either because he is very comfortable, but he does want to get paid like one of the better players on the squad.

Currently, Jan Oblak, Koke, and Antoine Griezmann earn more than Carrasco. That is why it’s not ruled out that talks will begin for a contract extension between the Spanish club and player, so perhaps using Premier League interest might be at play to get a better deal.

I wasn’t necessarily advocating the buying of Spence, just the difficulties that seem to surround any transfer business that Levy becomes involved in.

I certainly wouldn’t be averse to Aarons coming in,it’s strange that as soon as the season finished che was linked with a number of clubs, but that all seems to have gone quiet.

Kinda surprised you actually went down that road. This kid is not ready at $15 or $20. If we are not going to retain Doherty or Royal, I would test the resolve of Norwich City for Max Aaron. 2 years in the Premier League, the number 1 on the sheet. Like Bissouma I think he be better with l better players around him. And he is proven has pace and does cross the ball although I would like to see him release them around the same area as Trent.

Is Spence even the answer to our wingback issues anyway? I’ve seen the highlight reels and don’t think there’s anywhere near enough end product. He’ll be a bargain under 20m, but don’t see him helping us this season, he’s another Sess who needs a good few years to get good enough for PL and CL.

It seems Levy is really up to his old tricks and won’t go to 15M + add ons for Spence. If this is a Conte pick he’s not going to be a happy bunny. The alleged 150M warchest really is a scam it seems. Why is nobody surprised.

For the record when Arsenal sign Gabriel Jesus Next week or whenever. They did not beat Spurs to his signature. The reality is he is leaving because the was going to sit behind Haaland. Why would he leave and come sit behind Kane. In the mids of the cluster, they would have beaten Chelsea who is looking for a striker, we are looking for a back up. He like Raphaina are the wrong candidate for our needs.
