Winks reveals what Mourinho told Tottenham dressing room after Wolves loss

After our hugely frustrating defeat to Wolves on Sunday, Harry Winks has revealed what Jose Mourinho told the dressing room.

Despite twice taking the lead, the visitors returned home with all three points as we dropped to seventh place in the Premier League table.

That leaves us five points adrift of Chelsea and so we’ll have to find the solutions quickly as attention switches to our FA Cup fifth-round tie against Norwich on Wednesday night.

Winks though has offered a little insight into the message that the Tottenham boss shared with the players on Sunday to help us become a more efficient side, and it’s arguably a fair point.

“What he said to us in the dressing room was spot on,” he is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard. “We are a very good side and when we play our football and defend with aggression, but there were moments in the transition on the counter-attack where we could have been more cute and been more like a winning team. If we stop the counter-attacks earlier, then we come away with the win.”

It’s hoped we learn the necessary lessons from that loss and improve moving forward, as despite our current injury troubles, there is still enough quality in the side to remain in contention until key players begin to return.

For now though, Mourinho will hope that the players respond to his advice and improve, and we’ll have a chance to bounce back in the league when we travel to Burnley on Saturday.

They won’t respond because they’re bang average, too many passengers with very poor/fragile mentalities allowed to fester under Mr Trophies r for egos and a fan base that claps structures and doesn’t care about ‘pots’

Very general, isn’t it. Who stops the counter attacks? Are we setting up to stop them?
