Will Gareth Bale be returning to Tottenham? His agent answers that question

By Bruce Grove -

Gareth Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, has poured cold water on suggestions that the Welshman might return to Tottenham this summer.

He spent last season on loan at the Tottenham Stadium from Real Madrid.

He scored some important goals for them last season even though he wasn’t always a favourite of Jose Mourinho.

The attacker would be useful to Tottenham’s next manager if the club manages to sign him yet again.

However, Barnett is certain it will not happen and says there is no agreement between Tottenham and the former Southampton man.

He insists that Bale would remain in Madrid to honour his contract with the Spanish side.

‘As I have said from the beginning, there is no option,’ said Barnett on Standard Sport.

‘Gareth has no agreements whatsoever. He is under contract to Real.’

Bale is likely confident that he would get the chance to play more games at Madrid now that Zidane has left and has been replaced with Carlo Ancelotti.

Tottenham has been linked with other players and they can sign an attacking star that would make a bigger impact than Bale did, but they have to be willing to splash the cash.

No question he used us to get some football matches in for the Euro’s and considering the money he was being paid we should have played him in more games. When he came on loan with Requilion, the new stadium and Mourinho arriving I doubt even he could imagine the state of the club now. Even our best player wants away as he sees no future at the club. Zidane leaving RM changed his thoughts about returning I am sure. He wants to play in the World Cup if he can in two years time.

It would take less than a nanosecond to decide whether to stay at Real Madrid on £500k a week and play with some of the best players in the world and compete in the elite competitions or to return to the sh*t show that is THFC, Levy and ENIC and the Europa Conference Competition minus Harry Kane.
