Why Poch Would Only Bring A Stale Voice To Stale Ears| video

By The Boy -

Another Daily Briefing for you and if Pochettino is doing a midnight flit from Paris St Germain, then I look forward to the French press starting to link names to the Qatar-owned club – unless of course, the Ligue 1 giants are planning upon placing an ad in Exchange ou alors Mart.

Yesterday one of Pochettino’s good friends pronounced this supposed deal as a dead duck of an idea. Yet so many people have a mate on WhatsApp that knows better. Funny old game.

Dimitar Berbatov also thinks Poch’s return to N17 could be a potential disaster.

The long and short of it is it matters not a jot which manager/head coach comes in right now. I think Poch has the ability to be a winner given the correct tools. But neither him, Conté or anyone else could make winners out of this lot. If Pep was hired tomorrow his credentials would take a step nosedive by the end of next season.
The house is falling down, and the head chief bucko, the one that counts, will seek to shore it up with Polyfilla and silicone while the rot continues behind the wallpaper.

I’ve said it before. I’m happy to listen to any plausible explanation as to why anyone would think Poch would come back to Spurs. I’m happy to listen to any explanation for that matter

It’s fair to say that Poch was the most successful Spurs manager of the Premier League era. By quite some way..

If discussions are actually happening, if I were Poch I would simply refuse to entertain the idea unless certain criteria were met and made part of any contract terms. Things would HAVE to be different from the first time round, otherwise Poch would be completely wasting his time…

I agree unless he wins the CL next year he won’t get a contract extension. Failure to win it has caused the demise of Emery, Ancelotti and Tuchel before him all of whom had varying levels of success domestically. Until they win it the job is a revolving door.
Their Qatari owners, in perhaps in common with City’s owners see this tournament as part of a strategy to promote their countries influence to the wider world through football.

You are consistent in your narrative. Long term injuries to Kane at crucial stages of the season most years with no credible back-up as JM himself discovered with Vinicius was similar to Neymar in the Man City CL game on the bench through injury and Mbappe played with injury.
De B injury in the CL final shows what happens without your elite players.
Did Pep have a backup plan B to deal with this? Is Pep a loser? Tuchel didn’t win the CL with the 1st and 3rd most valuable players … so I guess he is also second rate according to your criteria. Tuchel owes a great deal to Rudiger and you know why JM tried to bring him to Spurs.

They’ve always been slow. Don’t rate Hitchen but can imagine the Levy terms and conditions he operates under.

So if he is on borrowed time with a short term contract there should be absolutely no issue with a mutual release? After all we have a good relationship with PSG.

I think it is a combination of the right quality to give an impetus to the squad. Remember we were top of the table under JM mid season but he was not backed with the necessary quality.

The problem i think lies in Hitchen. Ever since Paul Mitchell left, 8 years now our transfers have been poor, too slow, we have steadily gone backwards since Walker and Dembele were sold.

Always the bridesmaid, never the bride is Botchy… Better team than Leicester and came runner up. League cup runner up. CL final runner up… He goes to PSG with the 1st and 3rd most valuable players in the world Mbappe and Neymar and he loses the league to Lille, runner up……. Second place is second rate…… Great coach Botchy, credit where its due, but do you see the pattern here… Runner up.

No chance of that now. He has to win the CL next year if he hopes for extension.. I spat my tea out laughing the other day after your claims he’s now a winner after the coppa italia (their league cup that qualifies them for the ropey, wooden spoon pot in your words)…. Tuchel was there 2 years with those players, he won the league twice, in his second season he won a domestic QUADRUPLE, only losing the CL final.. Yet they still sacked him… High expectations with Mbappe Neymar and co.. Tuchel is a winner.

Shots on target is cobblers. Aim right down the middle and you increase shots on target, but keeper gobbles it up with no hassle, aim for the corners and an inch too far is off target. Not a stat I ever valued.

That final has really shown how much city need Kane. Aguero should have started, but honestly, they looked blunt, as though they really didn’t have a clue how to even get a sight of goal. Kanes value just gone up, and I think city will pay it.

PSG don’t want shot of Pochettino. There are some weirdos that like to continually perpetuate the myth that Poch is a second rate manager but the reality is different.

Certainly his stock is higher than it has been for some time. PSG are slightly transitional at the moment and he’s done some good work and won a pot, in under 6 months. Jose’s failure to turn Spurs around has also made the decline Poch’s last year or so at Spurs look like it wasn’t all down to him. Because it wasn’t…

Personally I feel it’s about how backed Pochettino or any other manager would or wouldn’t be. Those supposedly bored of Poch failed to be more engaged by Jose either.

Whoever it is in that squad that can’t play football properly because they’re bored with the sane voices must be moved on. Which leads me back to the issue about backing.

You back the management, Pochettino or otherwise and things will be ok. The ball is in Levy’s court, simple as that…

CL final observations:

  1. City need Kane
  2. Pep is getting it wrong (so far)
  3. Taking the knee got big time booed, expect that to be ditched for next season
  4. Mount choking
  5. James will make the Euros over Trent
  6. The usual pundit jizz fest over Foden is seeming a bit misplaced
  7. Micah Richards – where are you, Lescott is bringing me nothing.

It did seem a bit desperate PSG posting that, just after the story broke, as proof he wasn’t interested.
