When a senior pundit comes out and rubbishes a rumour, you take notice. When that senior pundit is a friend and the ghostwriter of a book on the individual in question, the opinion gains even further authority.
After spending too many hours today looking into the whole ‘Return Of The Poch debacle, it became pretty obvious that a story from the Sun was essentially hijacked. A response from one credible source in France, plus Balague’s comments firmly suggest to me that PSG might have a teensy case for being tapped up, or far more likely, the entire tale was fictional.
To be blunt, I know Daniel Levy is in a tight spot, but I really don’t see him causing chaos with a club he’s done plenty of business with, but incurring a tapping-up charge. PSG were aligned with Tottenham in the whole Europa Conference League shenanigans. It doesn’t make an iota of sense, no matter which way one looks at it.
I don’t believe in myths. The facts speak for themselves where Mourinho is concerned. His record specifically speaks for itself. The very fact our performances didn’t change in those last 6 games bears out the fact his sacking made no difference.
The sorry lot we call a football team couldn’t even muster a cup final performance for their mate Ryan. But let’s pin that on Mourinho huh !
2 points a game better than anything he ever achieved at spurs.
Yes I do and if you believe in the myth of the special one you should
You think we managed 7th place because we got shot of Mourinho?

2m Stadium bonus revoked!! 😂
Eternity and a pay cut backdated to the beginning of time
I think the club want something done soon, whoever it is needs the summer window and pre season to ave any chance at all next season…
What’s the sentence to be passed down Mr Levy for that m’lud?
And we wouldn’t have even made that if Jose hadn’t been sacked
From European Super league to European conference league …. The stuff they make films about ….
Correct!
Nobody close to Poch is going to rubbish the “they asked” I hope that Spurs are made to squirm and someone says that they did not ask because PSG didn’t give permission.
That’s tapping up.
Did you read the BBC article, Easty?
The actual wording is fascinating.
I’m not 100% sure that BBC Sport would be running this as their top sports story tonight if it was little more than Sun title-tattle.
Like I say, Balague has said that “they asked”, so he’s not saying that no contact has been made. Secondly Poch only has about 12 months or so left on his PSG deal or something, impossible for Spurs to buy that out?
Now it may be true that PSG may prefer to keep him but as H has already pointed out regarding Kane, this isn’t modern slavery. Things move fast in football and Zidane and Conte are suddenly available.
The only thing that puts this completely to bed for me, is PSG announcing that Poch has signed a contract extension…
it was always unlikely as he’s valued at PSG because they know what issues they have that Poch has so far hasn’t had the time or signings to fix. In fact they feel that their Champions League run was more than credible and that the French Cup was a nice bonus. They are where City were last season, semi-transitional at the moment.
However this just might not be quite the end of this, time will tell i guess. Balague has admits that “they asked”, so they have in that case contacted Poch or his representatives about it? Not complete fiction in that case? 🤔
😂
Your pals at Ladbrokes are probably the day’s biggest winners H!
The Sun in “Made up story” Shocker!
Hold the front page!
It won’t stop until the new man is in place but it does one thing – it confirms that Sky etc are so, so desperate, they’ll rehash the same old non-story.
