“Was scoring 15 and assisting 10 a season”, “Finished FC” Some Fans Are Staggered By Latest Spurs News

By The Boy -

Dele Alli was dropped from the first team to face West Ham, in order to feature in the Europa Conference League against Vitesse. So logic suggests that if the same player is dropped from facing Burnley this evening, then he is probably being rested for Manchester United at home on Saturday, doesn’t it?

The story that Dele was not included in tonight’s game at Turf Moor broke via the Mail Online, and reaction from fans on social media has been mixed, with many feeling pretty sore at the suggestion that Dele Alli has in fact dropped from Nuno’s preferred list entirely.

What is curious here, is that some are so obsessed with the player, that accepting reality is too bitter a pill to swallow. One fan above refers to a scoring and assist stat that has never happened. The most goals in all competitions, the 25-year-old has ever achieved was 1o and that was during the 2015/2016 season…

I have to say…. Your responses so far have been quite amusing. This last reply however takes it to a different place. Top trolling fella.

We have a -4 GD the highest in the top 10. Utd have +1 There’s a long way to go to the end of the season and I’d wager Utd are far better equipped to finish higher than we do as they have done for decades.

I’m out of this debate now. Like I say. Top
trolling. Your time here will be limited so I’ll say toodles.

Nuno needs to be bold and brave he should drop all the crap players cause them players will cause his downfall. it is a fact they caused the sacking of both Jose and Pochettino when they sacrificed those top managers do you think they care about current manager, Nuno has to die while he is fighting so drop all the players Levy the bold tells you to field.

The difference between Spurs and Manchester United is currently 1 point in Spurs favour. Spurs are also still involved in the 4 competitions they entered this season. Everything else you say is speculation based on your theory that this United team are superior to the current Spurs team.

I would take Nuno over Ole all day long.

I would also take Kane, Son and Moura over the United front 3.

United’s defence have conceded 15 EPL goals this season.

Spurs defence has conceded 13 EPL goals this season.

Skipp & Hojbjerg are as good if not better than United’s defensive midfielders.

The only 2 United players I would want for this Spurs team are Pogba and Fernandes.

We have Ndombele and Lo Celso.

So, what we can take from that reply is you are all mouth, no trousers. You’re the one insisting that we’re in a better place than Utd. A club that have won more in a season than we have in in 5 decades. A club going through a bit of a lean spell and whom despite that finished runners up in the PL last season whilst we finished 7th.

Give your head a wobble lad. The difference between us and Utd is a lean spell vs rotting decline.

I have been watching the games and Spurs have been decent at home apart from the second half against Chelsea. Nuno’s first 9 fixtures have delivered more points than Pochettino’s and I accept that the away tactics, team selection, performances and results have been generally poor.

However; Nuno has settled on his formation and preferred starting 11 in recent weeks and shown us the players he wants more from with what he did last week in Europe. Winks and Dele being dropped from tonight’s squad is a further clue as to who is stirring the pot and who Nuno trusts.

This has been coming and we should back whoever gets Winks in particular out of the door.

Spurs number 8 indeed.

Jimmy; When the fun stops; stop. You may be in play with Ray but I speculate verbally. Is there a restraining order coming down the line?

Yes and we thumped them 6-1 at their place last season, how did that work out in the long run? They will always do better than us because they have several players for each position whilst we don’t. Over the course of a long season that will always give them the edge. They at least are creating chances, we’re not.

Rubbish, more chance of seeing a pink elephant than Spurs finishing in top 4. Have you been watching our games? I understand positivity but this is more like stupidity.

If you’re so convinced we’ll beat Utd on Sat, how about putting your money where your mouth is. Get down the bookies and put £100 on us winning. Put the ticket on here for us to see.

Spurs under Nuno have played 6 games at home since the start of the season. They have won 5 and lost 1 to Chelsea. Spurs currently sit above Manchester United in the league having played the same amount of games. I am confident and have not lost faith in the team’s ability to win at home at this point. You have; which I accept and understand. Spurs have been going backwards for two and a half years so I understand the bed wetting and concern. I just don’t think it is realistic to give this current United team more credit than they deserve.

United have won away at West Ham and Wolves but they have also just been battered by Liverpool which now defines their season. Up until now they would have quietly hoped to challenge for the league. Sundays defeat means they are in a scrap for 4th with the rest of us.

They are probably favourites to win the battle for 4th but this game will be one of the hardest they have to face in that quest. I back Spurs.

As Dele’s best attribute was his ability to score goals I am puzzled as to why it is Spurs have tried to re-invent him as a central midfielder. Should we not give him a go up front in the second string games?

Spurs have been inconsistent and unconvincing but they are 1 place above this current United team you admire so much. This United team have lost to Villa, Leicester and Liverpool and drawn with Southampton and Everton. Hardly convincing. They were also beaten by West Ham in the League Cup.

United got a proper battering on Sunday. Spurs game at West Ham could have gone either way. Nuno got it wrong in the NLD but his team selections since then speak volumes and the performances have been better. 9 games is not enough.

I believe Spurs have every chance of beating United at home. You disagree. Fair enough.

Seriously lad ! Have you actually watched us play this season ? We didn’t muster a single shot on West Ham’s goal in the second half on Sunday. We’ve lost 4 London derbies conceding 10 goals in the process. One of those teams was Crystal Palace.

If you think we have the capability of beating a hopeless Utd then my friend you are delusional.

Spurs are in with a chance of fourth in the league along with United, Arsenal, Leicester and others. United improved when Fernandes was signed but they are dropping points in the same manner as Spurs.

I accept that the current Spurs team are not as good as we were 3-4 years ago but I do not accept that United are much if any better. I fear Leicester more than United. Ronaldo is 36 and Cavani is 34.

United have jokers like Fred & Mctominay in their first team as well as a dodgy defence. Spurs have problems but United are in a worse position with a higher wage bill & expectation level than Spurs.

In reality they have a much stronger squad than we do. How you can mention Man U players without mentioning Ronaldo is quite extraordinary. How do you manage to breath with your head buried in the sand?

Utter gash. United have as many problems at the back as Spurs. The only advantage United have is Bruno Fernandes. A player capable of creating lots of chances and scoring a few too. United were carved open at the weekend. Fatty Shaw and Maguire looked clueless. Why on earth would you fear this mob and want our manager sacked?

Dele Alli was brilliant when he arrived from MK Dons. He was a rising star at that point and was hungry for progression and success. Once that success arrived he stagnated. Dele does not have the mental capacity to deal with adversity. He was fine while everything was ticking along nicely. Once his form dipped and he was eventually dropped from the side he has looked sullen and resentful. The surly, tattooed haircut Dele has become is no longer the humble, hard working kid from Milton Keynes who battled and fought for every ball in his first two seasons. The statistics point to this.

In his defence; Eriksen’s departure has affected all the attacking players but Dele probably relied on Eriksen more than any other Spurs player for his goal scoring contributions. Being attacked and robbed in his own home, in front of his former partner, was probably a frightening and humiliating experience too that would affect anybody on a human level. Dele has lost his way but whereas Kane behaves like a man Dele is still a boy at heart. He hasn’t matured and grown up. It’s a shame.

The club is in free-fall.Utd will be smarting from their humiliation last week. They will be up for it at the weekend for sure and they have a much better squad than we have. I bet Ronaldo is chaffing at the bit to get amongst our back line, This hopefully could be Nuno’s last game in charge, The problem is who is going to want to come anywhere near this poison chalice other than some unknown with no reputation to lose?

10, 22, only wrong by 12 goals 🙄 Said it two years ago, Dele looks like a player that’s lost his instincts for the game and the longer he continues to perform so poorly, the more it seems he’s finished at the top level. Waste of a career

Dele is done. But at least get your facts right, he scored 22 in 2016/17

Dele’s poor form and mental capacity are down to one man apparently. Even though he’s no longer at the club, Mourinho is the devil incarnate. It’s him who single handedly ruined Dele’s career.

Nothing to do with the man himself though. Nothing to do with believing his own hype. Nothing to do with concentrating more on a social media empire than concentrating on the job he’s actually paid to do.

He won’t be in the squad for the Utd game. NES is a lot of things, but I give him credit for seeing through this charlatan on a footballer.
