Tottenham Hotspur is about to get their season underway in a few days when they open up the Premier League season against Manchester City.
In their final friendly to prepare for the upcoming campaign, Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg spoke to Spurs TV, discussing the upcoming season. The 26-year-old, who is entering his second season with the London-based club, mentioned the group’s potential.
“Let’s stay on the right track, let’s stay steady, let’s stay realistic, but I’ve said it before, the talent in this team is incredible,” Hojbjerg said.
“We’ve got to change a little bit maybe the way of bringing that mentality and, let’s say, the ability to be consistent every single day in our behavior. We have to bring that forward a bit more, but we put in a good fight. We saw some good play, we were well organized, and all excited to try to give something back to the supporters.”
Hojbjerg mentioned that with the supporters coming back to the stadium, the squad hopes they’ll be helpful at home matches this season as Tottenham look to secure a top-four finish in 2020-21.
“We need the fans on our side to be behind us and push us like they did today,” Hojbjerg said. “I can’t wait for the season to start, to hear the fans roaring and celebrating. We will give our all, and I’m sure the fans will do the same. It’s a pleasure to play in front of them.”
Yep. Waaaay over..
The new Gazza….haha! Steady on..
You pay over the odds for top English players, always have done.
Same reason they bought Walker, there are other options but they need their homegrown and English quota. They need very good English players to get into their team. Otherwise they’d probably rarely buy from the Premiership…
(Grealish, who isn’t worth it ) Grealish is so worth it and if Levy had not tried to low ball Villa a couple of years ago we would have had the new Gazza in our team
His attitude is worth 100 ndombeles and the like.
gives all 100% .
Kane is set to play against City then….City found a hundred mill for Grealish, who isn’t worth it, and they don’t really need, why is it such a problem for them to stump up the cash for the missing piece for their total domination?
Think on.
Then why is it in the Euro conference league?
Not Actually sure how good he is yet, however his attitude is second to none
Great player but his performance did eventually dip to match the rest last season – needs to ‘go again’, back to his best form under Jose
Beast….if I was a kid I’d have his number on the back of my shirt….
