Jose Mourinho characterised Tottenham as a pony in a horse race when he was asked about Spurs title chances but that is not a view that the Chelsea manager Frank Lampard agrees with.
As far as Lampard is concerned Tottenham is definitely in the race and he name-dropped Son Heung-min and Harry Kane, as well as the defence, as reasons why Spurs are contenders.
The former West Ham graduate also pointed out that Spurs have strength in depth with the likes of Dele Alli and Gareth Bale in the squad.
even in this young season we’ve played very differently in different games…I think it’s too early to say every game will play out like they have in the last two, or the last four
the old adage is first off you sort out your defence and resilience…then you build from that platform after
the other old chestnut is ‘it’s defences that win you the league’
Yes and we’re in that race due to Mou’s style of football love it or loathe it. As long as the results are going well I’ll accept it, but if we still win nothing at the end of the season I’ll be the first to question it. Will it be an end to a means?
