Troy Deeney claims that Dele Alli might have to leave Tottenham after being hauled off at half time by Jose Mourinho again.
The Englishman has been struggling to play for Tottenham this season after he made a poor start to the campaign.
He has looked short of confidence and out of his depth as a player of the Lilywhites since the season got underway.
He was subbed off at half time in Tottenham’s first Premier League game of the season against Everton and he was similarly hauled off at half time on Thursday against Royal Antwerp in the Europa League.
Deeney claims that he has loved playing against Alli and speculates that perhaps there is a personality clash between him and Jose Mourinho,
He then adds that perhaps the 24-year-old doesn’t fit into the plan of the Portuguese manager.
Deeney writes on Sun Sports: “IT feels as if Dele Alli might need a move from Tottenham.
“After he was taken off at half-time in the Europa League defeat by Antwerp, it seems Dele’s face doesn’t fit with Jose Mourinho.”
“I have always been impressed when I’ve played against Dele but it seems as though there is a personality clash and that he doesn’t fit in with Jose’s way of playing.”
Alli will hope he gets another chance this season because that was the third time in this campaign that he hasn’t made it out after halftime.
THIS.
You want what’s best for the club? Trophies are what’s best for the club. We have a man in charge who’s renowned for getting them. Getting behind him is what’s best for the club. “He ain’t one of ours? Is pep Manchester’s? You narf talk rubbish. (I should be used to it by now. ” he ain’t one of ours” STRUTH!!
He’s definitely in decline or has declined, without question. Poch benched him for long periods in the end too.
My point is that it’s being compounded by a new manager with different tactics who doesn’t need him for that reason, even if he was the same as two years ago. Jose likes his teams to sit in and feed quick players up front and Dele in one of those positions doesn’t work for him.
I feel it’s become more about that than merely Dele having lost the ability to play football. Despite the bling and the nonsense around Dele, this is mainly about tactics. Which is why the whole demonization of Dele seems slightly disingenuous on the part of the management.
A loan away to the right place might just provide him the chance to pull it back. Putting him in a side with 9 changes, playing a system that nullifies certain players’ strengths just isn’t proving much to me. Other than Jose wanting to prove some point or other.
I also see LoCelso not fitting in either for example (who I rate highly), the problem Jose has is that Levy’s just not gonna dump these players given their ages and contract situations. Perhaps Jose needs to evolve, we aren’t a petrodollar club. Just in case anyone hadn’t noticed!! 😂
I don’t doubt it! 😂
Well said Mr MIT. Having said that Burnley are so subdued they look like nice guys.
We will likely see more Burnley fouls over the 2nd half in an attempt to break up that pace.
Burnley cannot use the same game plan. Chelsea has put out a lineup with enough pace across the entire front line and midfield (as well as the pace of Chilwell) to work the ball well into Burnley’s rear 7 before Burnley ever has a chance to set up and pack.
Spurs simply do not have the pace across all of the attacking positions to do that. They try to do the same by frequently playing a longer ball to their most pacy player (Son.) That is quite a bit more simple to create plans to negate.
Chelsea looks a lot faster with Ziyech in their lineup and Jorginho out. Could be dangerous, but teams like that are also easier to catch out on the front foot.
Dele’s decline really isn’t up for debate, matey.
If Poch comes back, I’m closing the blog.
Half an hour gone and Burnley so far, are only a shadow of the side that we played.
I think you’re probably spot on there. You can’t keep the wages so compressed if you want even reasonable quality players. Our wage levels have been sitting where other clubs were about 10 years ago. Which demonstrates what an even. More remarkable job Poch did.
I love the club and I love management that also love the club. Jol did, obviously Hoddle when he was in charge. I want what’s best for the club.
If Jose wins big for us i’ll always be grateful on a job well done, but he ain’t one of ours…
The truth is Poch and Jose have been given similar funds on player purchases…just a very different approach from both.
The advantage Jose has is the wage bill is going higher, that’s the bonus he has now over Poch – but we aren’t spending more.
And real fans will get behind him. The difference between us and the stupid fake ones
Poch edging closer to either the Citeh or Utd job.
Poch loves Spurs as much as the fans, ‘Mr Chelsea’ just passing through…
Celebrity Swear Words. This week Sean Connery. ‘ Arshhhhe’.
Legend. RIP
RIP Sean Connery. Best bond ever
Loves poch more than he loves Tottenham he does. Poch would think you’re a joke.
Poch will be back sooner than you think… trust.
Oops! 😂
City fan saying “if pep doesn’t win the CL with them he’s a failure, just like he was at Bayern. Harsh. They obviously don’t know what a real failure is (mentioning no names) POCH
I see those very quiet on Thursday evening have popped up again. “All about winning see… oops!” 😂
Shouldn’t you be darning pochs socks somewhere
Just thinking how much Levy is really invested in the whole Jose thing…
Bale is a loan, Vince is a loan, PEH was cheap, Reguilon is a player Poch has rated for some time, Doherty was an affordable addition to compete with Aurier. Hart was on a free. We strengthened in the right areas but I’m not convinced that this is Levy going in to back Jose to the hilt. Has he ever done it? Let’s be honest…
Oh shut up Will ya. for fck sake.
Why is everyone talking about Dele? LoCelso is suddenly a misfit, Bergwijn looks low on confidence, Davies played out of position in that match with Toby sat on the bench. You change the side that much and then trash the players?
Jose says “now you know why I don’t pick these players”… Players you signed Jose… Echoes of Utd already? Perhaps a bit early to say but I don’t think this approach works with this generation of players.
I find the demonization of Dele as fairly laughable alongside how poorly the whole team played in Antwerp. Dele has his issues, without doubt. So does Jose…
