Tottenham target once touted as available for just £10m will now cost £30m

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham will have to fork out £30m to sign Callum Wilson from Bournemouth, despite their relegation from the Premier League.

The Cherries were relegated from the top flight, but they have some good players that teams will look to pick up this summer.

One player that is highly likely to leave them because of their relegation is Wilson.

The England striker has been a target for Tottenham for some time now as they search for a backup to Harry Kane.

The Sun had initially reported that he will be made available for just £10m, however, the Northern Echo now reports that Newcastle also wants the striker and they will have to pay £30m to get the deal done because that is what the Cherries will demand.

Spurs have a number of targets to act as a backup to Kane, Wilson is just one of them, but they will struggle to pay that fee for just one player.

The Cherries might slash that fee if the striker cannot find a suitor that will pay that much for him.

This is because Bournemouth will struggle to pay his wages in the English second tier and that might see Spurs land him for less than this asking price.

AT £30 mill he’s not worth it. He doesn’t have a good enough scoring record to justify that price tag and if someone is going to come in aa a back up to Kane, do you want to spend that much?

Spurs management do this all the time — whether rumoured prospects are taken into account or not. The worst is when a young Spurs player whom everyone acknowledges has “massive talent” is let go because none of these coaching geniuses on millions of pounds a year can find the key to his ability or motivate him, or even play him in the right position. Now, years later when the moment has passed, they think, What a great idea to get him! — Just because he’s worth a lot more now they think they can work with him this time?

Seems like he is in demand so it will be unlikely, bidding wars aren’t Levy’s style.
