Tottenham set to miss out on striker target after Spanish giants agree £65m move

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham is set to miss out on a move for Dusan Vlahovic as he is now close to joining Atletico Madrid.

The Lilywhites have been in pursuit of the signature of the 21-year-old for much of this summer.

He netted 21 league goals for Fiorentina last season and is seen as a player who will develop into a top European striker in the future.

He has two more years left on his current deal, but Fiorentina has plans to extend that if he doesn’t join a new club in this transfer window.

It seems they will now make some good money from his sale with a new report claiming that Atletico has agreed to pay their asking price.

Corriere dello Sport, as reported by Sun Sports claims that the Spaniards have agreed to pay £65m for his signature.

He has started this season brightly after scoring twice in a 4-0 win over Cosenza in the Italian Cup on Friday.

Atleti has also reached an agreement on personal terms with him worth £2.56m-plus-bonuses per season until 2026.

This offer is a huge one and Tottenham will struggle to match it, especially as they haven’t sold Harry Kane yet.
