Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison is a target for Manchester City at the end of the season, and an offer has been submitted to secure his signature.

According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester City have offered €65 million (£55m) to sign the 28-year-old attacking midfielder from Tottenham. Kevin De Bruyne has announced that he will leave the club when his contract expires, and Manchester City have identified Maddison as his replacement

James Maddison has done well for Tottenham

Maddison has done quite well for Tottenham since joining the club, and he is one of their best players. He has 12 goals and 11 assists to his name in all competitions. He could prove to be an exciting acquisition for Manchester City. The player is at the peak of his powers, and he will look to make his mark at the highest level.

Joining Manchester City would allow him to compete for major trophies consistently. Even though Spurs have an ambitious project, they are not quite at the level required to win the league title or the Champions League.

Tottenham must keep their key stars

Losing Maddison would be a devastating blow for Tottenham, and it remains to be seen how they react to the offer. The report claims that it is a ‘compelling proposal’.

Tottenham have been quite disappointing this season, and they will be hoping to bounce back strongly next year. They need to keep their best players to do that.

It remains to be seen whether Maddison is tempted to join Manchester City in the coming weeks. It would be a huge step up in his career, and he would get to play alongside world-class players at Etihad. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks.
