Tottenham ready to include 28-year-old in swap deal for Serie A hitman with good scoring record

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham is reported to be keen on signing Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik and are ready to offer Erik Lamela as part of the deal to get the Polish striker this summer, according to GivemeSport.

One of Tottenham’s main objectives in the next transfer window is to land a new striker that can help take some of the burden off Harry Kane.

The Lilywhites, however, will see their summer spending affected by the coronavirus pandemic and Jose Mourinho will most likely have to be creative to land any of his targets.

Lamela has spent the last seven years at Tottenham after joining them from AS Roma, but the Argentinean can be considered surplus to requirements in an area of the Tottenham squad that is well stocked with talent.

Truth be told, Lamela’s departure might not be a tough one to handle and if losing the 28-year-old is a price to pay for Spurs to land a decent striker then so be it.

Milik will have a year left on his current deal at the end of this season and he hasn’t signed an extension yet. No actual cash amount or structure of any proposed swap deal has been mentioned in the article but one suspects it will have to involve some money from Spurs as well as Lamela.

The Pole may not be a household name but he is at a good age (26) and he has a fairly decent goal scoring record in Serie A with 37 goals in 84 appearances.

If Tottenham can make this one happen it would be a very good acquisition in my opinion.
