Tottenham player is so toxic he is set to be sold for 90% less than he was once worth

By Bruce Grove -

One of the most toxic players on the books of Tottenham for a very long time now is set to be sold by the Lilywhites for a hugely discounted fee.

Danny Rose has been with Tottenham since he joined them from Leeds United in 2007. The fullback was considered one of the best left-backs in the Premier League at some point in his career and Spurs even valued him at £50 million (The Mirror).

The defender, however, became too toxic with his off-field comments about the club and fell out of favour with his last two managers.

Spurs shipped him out on loan to Newcastle in the last transfer window as he reportedly fell out with Jose Mourinho.

He looks like he has played his last game for the club with a report by FootballInsider claiming that Tottenham will look to sell him for just £5 million in the summer.

At the end of his loan deal with the Magpies, he will have just a season left on his current Spurs deal but he clearly isn’t a part of Mourinho’s first-team plans.

It is a remarkable fall from grace for Rose that he could be sold by Spurs for 90% less than they valued him just a few years ago, but that also shows just how bad the club wants to get rid of his toxic nature.

I always liked the Guy , but when he believed that he was not getting what he was due , like his mate Kyle , Danny spoke out , his form dropped and it became a Catch 22 situation .

One million he cost…. Hes our oldest servant right now been on our books over ten years… I wouldnt say hes toxic, just been spitting the truth ever since walker left (once or twice to the wrong people which wasnt very clever).. Hes still our best left back. Better than davies I know who i would rather trust on that pitch.

Worked his way into a great position for himself at the club and with England , which
went to his head, so nobody else is to blame for his downfall except himself .

If Danny Rose worked in any other business he’d have been removed from post.

He was aggrieved ever since Walker moved to City. Wasn’t the same ever since. I think he thought he was due the same sort of move. He probably harbours resentment that this move never happened and has now become embittered. Real shame as at one point he was a firm favourite of mine.

Toxic is a bit harsh. His comments are at worst ill advised, but his criticism of the club was justified. He wanted market wages which was a fair comment. Like I said, it was ill advised as he had signed a new deal. Recent comments about CV 19 are centred around money grabbing clubs and media companies forcing a comeback. What is wrong about that?

Thirteen years at one club is a long tíme, so he must have been doing something right, maybe he should have been sold at the top of the market for him. With another year of £60 thousand a week he might be hard to move. Joins the growing list of bad deals where players should have been sold earlier, Eriksen, Wanyama, and now Rose, that’s maybe £150 million of talent sold for very little.
