Fabio Paratici has started working to get his first signings at Tottenham sorted.
The football administrator had a lot of success at Juventus and that prompted Spurs to appoint him as their football director ahead of next season.
Paratici is expected to help them end their search for a new manager by appointing one soon.
He is also expected to spearhead their player recruitment ahead of the coming campaign.
Having worked in Serie A most of his career, it would come as no surprise if he signs players from Italy’s top flight.
Inter Live is reporting that he already has his eyes on two players from Italian champions, Inter Milan.
The report says he would talk with his former colleague Beppe Marotta, who is the head honcho at Inter, to sign two players from the Serie A champions.
He has his eyes on Marcelo Brozovic and Stefan de Vrij. The former is one of the finest midfielders in Serie A, while the latter is a solid centre back.
Defence was a problem for Spurs last season and adding a midfielder who has just won Serie A to their squad wouldn’t be a bad idea.
The report says he plans to pull off these transfers for just 47m euros.
How can you make a statement like your first sentence? He’s still contracted to Juve until July 1st. as I understand it.I can just imagine them letting him run up their phone bill sorting out players for us,especially as one or two might play for Juve.Besides he would look for cheaper younger players to begin with.
Not many do now….
I’m always very wary of judging players in big tournaments. A lot of these guys especially East Europeans are ultra patriotic and would die for the shirt.
But in club football they don’t have the same motivation.
Mykolenko is a must too. Full backs are needed and the Kiev LB would be perfect. He was brilliant against Holland.
Again, these are players who are past their peak. Brozovic was one that should av come in 3 or 4 years ago when Mousa was struggling. He’s 29 in November, need to be looking at younger talent like Barella, Hagi, Tonali, etc
His former colleague who supposedly can’t stand the sight of him.
Stefan de Vrij is a solid (29 year old!) defender. Hopefully we won’t pay too much for someone close to his footballing pension age.
