Tottenham midfielder’s international window might help him get back into Spurs starting XI

One player in the current Tottenham team that will feel that he needs to play more is Giovani Lo Celso.

The Argentinean is one of the club’s most-talented midfielders, but his inconsistencies have seen him play less than the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Moussa Sissoko.

He was a key part of Mauricio Pochettino’s team and he still looks like a player that can be a mainstay in the current Tottenham team.

That hasn’t happened so far as he continues to struggle to displace the options ahead of him.

The international window offers more minutes of football to some players who haven’t been playing for their club, and that has been the case for the former PSG midfielder.

Football London reports that Lo Celso was in fine form for Argentina in their game against Paraguay in this international window and his display in that match has been tipped to help him get back into the reckoning at Tottenham.

One of the reasons why he hasn’t played much for Spurs is because he isn’t physically 100% yet after failing to take part in much of the club’s preseason.

These extra minutes on international duty will also help him get fitter and more in shape ahead of the return of club football.
