Tottenham make enquiry for experienced Bundesliga forward that will cost only €15m

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham’s summer business will be an interesting one, with fans expecting very limited activity due to the financial impact of covid19.

The Lilywhites have had to borrow funds (BBC) to cushion the effect of the pandemic, however, there are players who are still being linked with the club.

Jose Mourinho joined after this season has started and the Portuguese manager is one manager that knows the exact player he needs to set his team up for success.

There have been a number of players linked with a move to Spurs and a recent report on Fussball Transfers claims that the Lilywhites are one of the teams to have made an enquiry about Croatia forward Ivan Perisic.

The Inter Milan winger has been on loan at Bayern Munich this season and he has just gotten his loan deal extended to cover the German’s Champions League campaign next month.

However, the German Champions have just signed Leroy Sane (BBC) and they are unlikely to make his loan move permanent according to the report.

As he looks for a new home, the report claims that Inter has made him available for €15m.

Perisic is an experienced winger who reached the last World Cup final in 2018 and he would add valuable experience to the Tottenham team.

€15m is not a big amount but Perisic is not getting any younger at 31 and the Premier League is a lot more intense than the Bundesliga and so there is no guarantee that he would adapt.

That said, he is a top talent and he could end up being massive value if he did hit the ground running, which is very possible.

Tottenham could do a lot worse but they will need some luck on their side.
