Tottenham linked with bitter London rival’s star player, and he wants to sign for Spurs

Tottenham have been linked with a move for West Ham’s Issa Diop and the Lilywhites can finally land their man after his asking price is revealed.

The defender has been on the radar of Jose Mourinho for some time now with reports from FootMercato earlier in the year claiming that the Portuguese manager wanted to sign him as part of his rebuild of the Tottenham team.

The 23-year-old continued to impress for the Hammers as they managed to avoid relegation to the English Championship.

Despite his fine form for the team, he doesn’t earn as much as his counterparts in other Premier League sides and that might change with a move to Tottenham.

Sky Sport reports that West Ham is prepared to sell the French defender as they need to sell some of their players.

The Sky report adds that they will be willing to listen to offers for Diop in the region of £45m.

They had previously wanted £75m, but no one will pay that much for a defender that plays for West Ham in the current financial climate brought about by the coronavirus pandemic.

It is also being reported (HITC) that Diop is keen on signing for Tottenham and that is one of the reasons the Hammers have put him up for sale.

Jose Mourinho needs to replace Jan Vertoghen who has just left Spurs for free and he might be followed by Juan Foyth through the exit door.

A RB (if not Tanganga), a sub Striker (that’ll be me), and a new CB (if not Tanganga) is what we need.

The Turk, the Croat or the Swede?

Walked into a bar, please complete ….

No, thank you. I’d rather buy ‘Arry’s wife on a free. I bet she’d do better.

On the 18/19 season I’d say he looked worth that but on 19/20 season, no chance. Not even the best defender at the club last season!!

Kim Min-Jae. The last reports on that front were about a month ago when Beijing aparantly insisted he would be staying. There were rumblings a couple of weeks ago that Lazio were sniffing around, but he seems to have dropped off the radar. An exciting prospect, but not one that’s going to come off. I personally don’t think we need a centre half right now and we should be concentrating all our efforts on at least 3 full backs.

Spurs have no interest in this player dont panic, you will probably find the truth closer to home, his agent will get a pay day if he finds him a bigger club away from West Ham.

Groundhog day again ! old old story nothing new. Funny West Ham havent said hes for sale in fact last time groundhog day came around they said the opposite. Also Diop has never said he want to go spurs, And the comment about not paying more than 45 million for a West Ham Player ? Be Interested to see which spurs defender is worth that ? As for spurs paying that sort of money didnt they just take out a very big loan ?
