Tottenham has made a fine start to this season as they top the Premier League and make progress in other competitions.
However, they are not playing the most appealing football and it is a departure from their style of play under Mauricio Pochettino.
Some observers aren’t enjoying the team’s current style of play, but that group doesn’t have Teddy Sheringham as a member because the Spurs legend says as long as it brings results, Jose Mourinho’s side can continue playing the game as they are doing now.
Spurs were one of the best teams to watch under Poch, but Mourinho has been brought in to win trophies and not to play a colourful brand of football.
The special one is doing just that and Sherringham has thrown his support behind what is happening at his former team.
While responding to those who question how Spurs are trying to end their trophy drought, he said to Cards Chat as quoted by Football London: “You’ve caught me at a good time, haven’t you, asking me how has José done, top of the league. What more can you say?
“I wouldn’t say it’s the most exciting football you’ve ever watched but he’s been doing it for years.
“You only have to look back in my time and Arsenal with George Graham. They weren’t fantastic at football, but they used to grind out their 1-0 wins and bore the arse off of people.
“I wouldn’t say Tottenham are boring people at the moment, but they’re certainly playing in a certain manner and everything’s fitting into plans at the moment for José.
“Teams are coming on to Tottenham and they’re hitting them on the break and they’re scoring goals at the moment. So, from my point of view, long may that continue and I’m sure everyone’s happy inside the Tottenham camp.”

I read this that while Teddy is happy that we’re top of the league, the above quote gives some context that while this is a compliment, it’s slightly backhanded one…

Teddy knows a thing or two by having played the game at a high level and used also his intelligence on the Texas Hold Em tables. My interest and respect for him far outways the likes of Jenas and other overated mouthpieces.
